Kirby was just mad. I'd be mad too. He'll apologize. Chip is being kind of a bitch here.

Wasn't Chip also the one that pissed off Richt with his stupid question about Murray after the 2012 SECCG?

Journalism is not the enemy of the American Public, but journalist certainly can be.

The sport is over covered and some privacy is in order on day to day things.

Chip, and many of the best writers, continue to bitch about the practice media availability.

I am fine with Kirby closing the doors the way he has. Helps keep the team focused and control the message in my opinion.

In regards to the particular question, I think Kirby was mad, as most would be. Also, while I understand the reason the question was asked, the subtext basically implied "was this injury your fault?"

Some so-called journalists are stupid, and all journalists sometimes ask the wrong question at the wrong time. The question, “should Zamir have beeen playing on special teams”?
There’s not a coach in the country that that question wouldn’t have pissed off at that moment. Not to mention, if you know anything about college football, it was a stupid question...anytime.

Nah... frick that. This is a little too "woe is me". Was Kirby wrong to call them out for something they hadn't yet reported? Sure... But the question is absolutely going to set off a coach... You're essentially setting up a question to second guess something with hindsight.

Not to mention here was their little riff off on the subject afterwards:
LINK

There is a lot of misdirection, but make no mistake about it, they're inferring that perhaps punt coverage is to blame... They have their POV and they're going to make it known. Kirby has his. Deal with it.

Ironically, Anthony Dasher (who asked the question) is probably the least upset about it and is also one of the better beat writers (my opinion).

Fib is correct though. The Chip Towers, Mike Griffiths, and Radi Nabulsis of the world ABSOLUTELY are seizing on an opportunity to grandstand about not having media access.

Reporters speculating about "should the five star back be on punt coverage" are absolutely second guessing the coaching and training staff.

The whole situation makes me mad, as most injuries do, not only because I hate it for the player and the team, but also because there is a TON of inaccurate, misdirected, and downright wrong information that gets circulated around anytime there is a knee injury.

It's amazing the number of people that all of a sudden become orthopedic "experts" after a kid gets hurt.

Chip Towers sounds like a whiny bitch. One just need look at Kirby's mentor and how he deals with the media to know that CKS is not going to be manipulated or guilt tripped.

Who's fault is that?Admittedly the 1st reports out about Zamir's injury was on social media and not from the reporters but from others on site (Kirby admitted as much in the article)

Have no idea why so many are bitching at the beat writers when they've done nothing wrong.

From hearing Chip Towers on the DawgNation Daily podcast Monday, he’s going to get another arse chewing from Kirby. He said he was going to ask Kirby if Swift was on punt coverage team too

I was referring to inaccurate information about knee injuries in general. Not about this specific one. For instance, I hear people parrot incorrect things all the time such as:

- Nick Chubb tore his ACL
- The majority of ACL injuries result from someone getting hit on their knee
- ACL rehab is typically 12 months

I could go on and on...

Are you saying Chip Towers is the source for these reports?

Sounds like these guys are more responsible for inaccurate information than anyone else.
