This team desperately needs more long distance shooting

As exhibited by Woolridge missing a wideal open three via air ball
Need to run that same corner sit when they double team Yantra but have Harris or Crump in Woodridge spot

Diatta does some good things, wish he would get all of Geno's minutes.
At one point we had a lineup of JJ, Parker, Geno, Ogbeide and Edwards. So only 1 guy you had to guard beyond 16 feet from the basket. Just kills the spacing and driving lanes. Have to have Turtle, Harris, Crump or Diatta in there as a shooting threat.
Maybe we just matched up better with ULL but defensively I thought we did a great job. Stayed in front of guys better, had solid help side and rotations. Liked the way we played on that end for the first time this season.

I agree, diatta should get literally all of KPGs minutes. Will be beneficial later in the season and next year. Kpg adds nothing for us and is not growing as a player. Let's get minutes for guys who are.

I got tied up last night and didn't get to listen or watch any of it.
Looking at the box score...can someone please tell me WITF crump didn't play a single minute?

Yante is just incredible. Knocking down 3s left and right today. Turtle and Harris have hit some ice shots too.
Dawgs cruising 37-19 with 4 min left in the first half

Dawgs up 46-30 over Charleston Southern at half.
Yante is 7/7 from the field and already has 19 points

Dawgs win 84-64 over Charleston Southern, improve to 7-3 on the season.
500th win in Stegeman Coliseum
Maten the only player in the SEC with two 30 pt, 5 rebound games this year

Beating tech and Oakland heading into sec play puts us right in contention for a tourney bid. No bad losses but no good wins either.

Definitely need these next two to remain afloat. We'll have our first shot at a quality win at Carolina early in January.

That will be our 4th shot at a quality win. We are just 0-3 so far

Good news is we have scheduled well and will have a solid RPI and great SOS.
This week is so big, two road games. Would really help our resume and numbers.

What?
L-Clemson-68
W-George Washington-121
L-Kansas-4
L-Marquette-80
Georgia Tech-135
Oakland-191
Texas-140
We scheduled a bunch of teams that were considered bubble teams before the season, and right now they are looking bad.
Out biggest win by numbers is UNC Asheville, who is 46th in RPI, but that is because theyve lost to VCU, Kansas and us. Their biggest win is against Elon, who is 153 in RPI. Ohio State and Winthrop are the only two teams they have left with an RPI under 150, so they will slide big time.
Our OOC schedule is bad, and its going to take a miracle for it to look good.

Well our SOS is 26 right now, so maybe try and be just a little bit less negative.

We have avoided played really low ranked RPI teams and we scheduled more road games than a lot of other power 5 teams. Those things factor in heavily to RPI and SOS. Our RPI was 39th going into Saturday even without a big quality win.
Of course would love to have one of those already but just saying our numbers are good, sets us up to have a strong resume if we get quality wins eventually.

Everywhere Ive looked has out RPI at either 58 or 59. I like using warrennolan.com just because its easy to look at and shows a lot of different stats, but the NCAA website has the exact same RPI through yesterday's games.
The non-conference RPI looks good now, but like I said earlier, its going to drop when UNCA gets into their conference schedule, and what happens if teams like George Washington, Marquette, Georgia Tech, and Texas fail in their conference schedule? Its going to go down even further.
We still have no marquee wins, so we are going to have to do a lot during the conference schedule to get in the tournament.
