I just care about getting to the playoffs. And beating Alabama's no-good lousy asses.

Whoever we play in a semifinal would be a faceless nameless piece of meat to tear apart to me. Fields or no Fields.

I'm not concerned about Alabama. Saban has lost it. UGA and Clemson participated in the total destruction of Tua Turndaballova. Hurts is gone. The Gumps are in the dumps.

You would be riveted to the screen cheering for Fields, you Judas motherfricker.

Saban who has lost it still owns UGA until proven otherwise.

The title of the post starts with UGA & Fromm, not OSU & Fields. I'm pulling for Fields to be second best. I hated OSU even before they stole Fields--I hate them more now.

This is stupid. The people that say Alabama is done are the same people who kept saying the Patriots were done after they lost a game or two. Greatness is about consistency and longevity with personnel changes. Until they aren't in the discussion in December, I don't think Alabama has "lost" anything. Hell they won a NC with fricking Mcelroy and AJ McCarron, so I don't doubt they have the ability to adapt.

OSU benefits from pouring it on lessor opponents. We could have scored in the sixties on most of our schedule but played deep in to the bench each week to live up to our promises of early playing time.

OSU is breaking in a lot of new parts and will likely start an inexperienced QB. My guess is he will look all world until an Iowa or an MSU or a Purdue sneaks in and beats them.

I wouldn't be surprised if OSU makes the playoffs undefeated and I would be surprised if they had multiple losses.

I especially don't want Fields to be the third recent Georgia HS quarterback to win a natty for some other team. That shouldn't even have been a possibility but now it is.

EDIT: Fields could be the fourth Georgia HS QB to win a natty with some other team, not the third. I forgot about Cam.

The least little thing goes wrong and OSU fans eat themselves.

See what happens if they don't get the waiver and martelstays and starts this year. OSU then gets to deal with the Fields effect.

Like it or Not, Fields will do well at Ohio State - Buckeyes have long history of featuring dual threat QBs on college level - Haskins, Barrett, Pryor and a few more I cannot remember. I fully expect Fields to lead OSU to one or two appearances in the CFP the next few years. Fairly easy path for them in the overrated Big 10.

I hate this line of thinking. It assumes all else is equal and that the other team used the QB as we should have and thus they got what we should have (a national championship). Football doesn't work that way.

Teams are different. Coaches are different. Injuries (or lack thereof) are different. Schedules are different. Different plays are called with different levels of success. Different penalties potentially decide the outcome of different games. There are different conferences with different levels of skill and talent that make of the different teams within those conferences that make it generally harder or easier for a team to be successful for an entire season.

Everything is different, so it makes no sense to believe that we would have won a national championship if we only recruited Cam Newton as a QB or kept Eason or Fields.

Simply put, football is a dynamic with many variables.

I hope Fields fails miserably so we don't have to hear about how we screwed the pooch on that entire situation.

That’s not gonna work out for you. Fields is gonna light it up.

Exactly! I have heard about Saban and Bama's demise too often. I'm not going to believe it until I see it, which will probably be when he retires. It's not going to happen as long as they're bringing in the kind of talent they are.

Fields is not ready at all. Rooting for him to mature into a great qb but I think he's a year away still.

First, that's a terrible thing to hope for this young guy. Second, Fromm has earned his spot and the only hope was if Fields would have been willing to accept a red shirt year.

"Stole" implies that he didn't go there willingly.

Congrats on the 157th pointless Fields thread.
