He previously was a safety at WV. I assume he plays star here so I suddenly feel much better about that position.

Smith has been one of the best slot defenders in college football this year while serving as the “spear” in the West Virginia defense. The West Virginia defensive back ranks first in PFF coverage grade among all FBS defensive backs with at least 100 snaps in the slot.

Likely will be our Star a la Maurice Smith. Most complicated position on our defense other than outside corner. Huge addition, Penn State was a big draw for him being closer to home but UGA gives greater exposure and of course there’s Addae

Would be impressive to hear that years ago, but the BIG12 was absolutely awful last year and there was no big passing team. Probably 6-7 SEC teams ranked higher than the 3rd from BIG12...which would’ve been crazy-talk just 5 years ago

They went 5-0 in their bowls and could have three top 10 teams in preseason polls for '21

I meant participate. I know when the non early-enrollees get there. I was asking if there was a chance he could step in now during spring.

Hopefully, he is finishing up credits for the spring at WVU. I dont know if they are in person or virtual.
With the LOI, i would imagine that he is available on zoom meetings.

HUGE get. He plays fearlessly and extremely aggressive. Watch any WVU game last year, If you hit pause at the end of every play he is always near the ball.
