I have been a detractor of Bobos in the past

Why?

He set records as an OC in '11 and '12 and would have in '13 if not for injuries.

He coached the all time leading passer in the SEC and coached another in '14(Hutson Mason)
to a top 10 QBR in his only year starting

Hire Bobo as a consultant to start. Like Saban did with Dan Enos, Sark, etc. Have him help Coley. Then see where it goes.

My bad.

I honestly can's see why, after Coley, why anyone wouldn't welcome back Bobo with open arms. Bobo put up very good offensive numbers when he was here, and he developed Matthew Stafford, Aaron Murray and David Greene.

Bobo might get us another season with Fromm, and would be much more creative with the offensive play makers we have than Coley, plus he knows the history of the program and what's made UGA successful in the past. Coley finally opened up the offense in the first half vs Auburn, then did the Chaney shutdown in the 2nd, putting excess pressure on the D. Prevent's not the best option when you have the other team on the ropes. (see UGA/Bama, Falcons/NE)

I love it how the definition of "open up" is to successfully execute plays.

I hate it when our coaches shut it down. We will lose games that way, gosh darnedit.

I thought Bobo made a few horrible situational calls when the game mattered, not running Gurley when the SCU game was on the line and not making Murray spike the ball vs Bama to run a prepared play. Those are just a few, what has changed, has been watching Chaney do the same thing at times. Chaney and Bobo have proven the ability to create effective offenses and Coley frankly cannot find such rhythm with a very experienced qb and one of the top olines in our history.

I am not sure that there is another OC out there today that runs a version of offense that Kirby would accept other than Bobo. UK fans have turned on their OC and the rest of the world is either running air raid concepts or west coast NFL concepts.

Good Lord, you can criticize any OC who ever coached for "situational calls"
Our offense wasn't the problem vs SC that day and if you look at his body of work at
UGA it's unprecedented. He's a better OC than Chaney

Both Georgia and LSU need to be careful with A&M. They are not a bad team, and could bite us if we start looking toward LSU (Or LSU to us) too soon.

That said, with A&M and LSU turning into a somewhat heated game, I am hoping they take a lot out of LSU before the SECCG.

If we go strictly by stats, record and eye test, it would appear as if LSU has a definite edge on us. I do think we can sneak up and bite them, though, if we prepare hard and have a good game plan.

Well, we have been the victim of situational calls that have worked for the other team a bunch...

Kirby seems to love everything about our offense except for the terrible players who keep missing assignments and making mistakes. The coaches are perfect.

This is what's bothering me at 4:27 on a Tuesday. I'm in la la land after Saturday & have started daydreaming about not getting boat raced by LSU. A&M is coming whether our team is ready or not.

Also 2 words... nightmare scenario... we lose to A&M and beat LSU in the SEC Championship. Its pretty unlikely but you never know.

We better be ready for A&M

Scoring offense:

2008 - 29th
2009 - 42nd
2010 - 35th
2011 - 36th
2012 - 15th
2013 - 20th
2014 - 85th

I honestly don't see much difference with Bobo and Coley. Bobo can have a couple of good seasons, but what happens when it comes off the rails.

You force Kirby to fire a friend, and I don't think he even puts himself in that position.

I think your 2014 information is wrong. We weren't 85th, we were 8th in scoring at 41.3 points per game.

When Bobo was here we didn’t have the best o-line in school history. We usually had a good QB and a good RB or two and a couple of good receivers. We were also often like a sieve on D. Coley has as many talent riches as any OC in UGA history, with lots of help on the D side of the ball, he just has no idea what to do with it, and never will.
