I realize he's everyone's favorite player on defense, and he brought in a TON of recruits for us. He also always seems to be in good position and is flying at the ball on every play.

But he sure does miss a lot of open field tackles. Do you think he just isn't big enough? Or do you think he's taking bad angles?

I'm hoping one more off season under his belt and in the weight room, and he could be an all-American.

I think he's big enough, but he doesn't always put himself in a position where he has good leverage. He also goes for big hits sometimes, when he should be breaking down and securing the tackle.

Maybe I’m off base, but I hardly know anyone whose favorite player on defense is Lecounte.

Yeah pretty sure Baker, Walker and Reed are above him in that department. I do have high hopes for Lecounte though. Only a sophomore and will get better

Definetly not many people’s favorite player but he has a high upside. Just ends up out of position too much and goes for the big hit too often. He’ll get better with experience. It’s his first year as full time starter

Yes, more than a couple of times in a game he goes for what looks to be an attempt at ending up on the GameDay Final highlight reel and misses instead of making a normal tackle.

He has been really disappointing to me. I had high hopes for him. He still may figure it out, but his hype made it seem like he would be an all-american by this point. That's obviously not his fault, but still.

Personally, I blame hinesville thrill

I think he is playing well, but still learning. This is his first year as a starter. He is not getting much help from the ILBs either.

Baker and Reed are my 2 favorites. LeCounte has an upside and will only get better. If he stays for his senior year, he will be a 1st round draft pick the next year.

Lecounte is one of the most bipolar players on this team IMO. He often looks impressive in flying around the ball, but he has also made some absolutely ghastly plays, especially in the LSU game in the 4th quarter. He made Joe Burrow look like the spawn of Jim Thorpe on that 60 yard run

He is a sophomore that didn't play that much last year.

He's a strong safety in a corners body - he needs to put on some weight in the off-season. His body isn't build for what he does best (big hits, playing the run). He'll be okay, he just needs to put on weight and he'll continue to get better with playing time...I think he'll be one of the better safeties in the SEC next year.
