-Great crowd. Showed up loud and stayed with it. There was a decent amount of blue in there, but not as much as I thought there'd be.

-Marcus Thornton is an absolute beast and a warrior. He just out-muscled multiple Gators for several rebounds today. Grown arse man.

-Glad to see us close down the stretch. I'll admit my sphincter tightened when Florida hit the 3 to cut it to 10, but we kept our cool and finished right.

-This isn't a typical Billy Donovan UF team, but they aren't terrible. I still say they finish the season decently and may sneak in the tourney.

-We're gonna be favored in our next 3, possibly next 4 games. The betting line doesn't win you a game, but we've got a shot to set ourselves up well over the next two weeks.

-Outside shot of sneaking in the top 25 this week. Unlikely it'll happen, but I do think we get a few votes at least.

-Ole Miss comes here Tuesday night. They're at Arkansas tonight

This team is starting to resemble the old Herrick squad. Not quite the star power but they're playing with alot of confidence. It's really easy to throw the season away after the way we lost our 1st 2 conference games after blowing big leads. They kept fighting and now we're right where we need to be.

Awesome that we didn't fade the last 5 min. Luckily UF was cold shooting so they couldn't really press us too much the last 20min. Had to listen to the 2nd half on the radio but Scott & Chuck made it sound like we came out with a plan to break their press that let them close to 5 at the end of the 1st half & executed it...

Dawgs get better at breaking the press & hitting free throws in the last 5 minutes & this could become a good/very good team...

The strong finish was critical. We really need to shake off our tendency to let other teams back in games we have under control.

Game Stats

TOTAL FG%
1st Half: 12-24 50.0%
2nd Half: 11-17 64.7%
Game: 56.1%

3-Pt. FG%
1st Half: 5-9 55.6%
2nd Half: 3-6 50.0%
Game: 53.3%

F Throw %
1st Half: 7-10 70.0%
2nd Half: 12-19 63.2%
Game: 65.5%

Over 50% from 3-point land is nice to see, right at 65% FG in the second half is how you put away a game.
Also its nice to see us getting closer to 70% on FT's.

Great second half effort to kill any chance of UF getting momentum.

No shot at all being ranked but we should certainly receive votes

definitely no shot at being ranked. Maybe if we woulda closed out the LSU game. If we can keep winning though our SOS and RPI would make an argument for it. The big difference the last 2 games has been how well we have shot the ball.

Watching Ole Miss take it to Arkansas on the road right now, they have been impressive. Be ready for another full game against a full court press and trapping defense. Plus they handle it and shoot a lot of 3's. Will need the crowd to show up Tuesday

If we can create that kind of outside game, Thornton will get a lot of good looks. I loved him taking almost unchallenged shots...

Fun day in Stegman. Crowd was great and the team played really good defense as well as playing well together. 4 guys in double figures. Thornton is a beast and Gaines and Frazier were deadly on the 3's. Any time you beat the Gators is a good day.

Unbelievably, Joe Lunardi has us out of the tournament right now. Our only two bad losses were against Minnesota and Georgia Tech. The other 3 losses we had were to teams that are in the tournament and we really should have won 2 of those 3 but LSU was a tough game on the road.

I posted this before in another thread about the rest of our schedule. I really think we can go 15-5 heading into Kentucky. Then we have back to back tough games with Tennessee next.

So Lunardi has updated his bracketology tonight despite all the games not being completed?

What in the hell did I get a frick you for?

@PNW, I didn't really think about that but the SEC has to have more than 3 teams in the tournament this year. I think UK, UT, ARK, LSU, UGA, and Florida should be in the dance.

Still a bit too early to worry about the tourney, imvho.

We keep winning we'll make it, we don't we won't. Screw this Losenard dude.

His latest set came out on the 15th. The conference definitely deserves more than 3 teams though. I'm guessing 5 get in.

Remember that i said it first, we will have a winning record in conference. Also, this would be a pretty tall task but IMO we could run the table losing to only Kentucky. The bottom half of the conference is really bad. Im worried mostly about UT and UA bc we never play well at their house.

One good thing though is that this team doesnt seem to be as affected by road games as some other past UGA bball teams.

he is seriously considering us. Coach Hayes talks to him most every day. He watched the Colorado and Seton Hall games on TV and likes us and the way we play. Guess we have really been on him every since he decommitted from Baylor. Says he will narrow his list of ten down to 5 or 7 soon. I'm thinking there is a good chance we make that cut.
