Those folks have wild expectations, but seems like most of those are solid takes. Kirbys inherited roster was much better.

That being said, Kelly is a weird fit for LSU. Next year gonna be make or break for his future there

I loathe LSU fans. I never really had too much of a problem with them before lurking/posting on these boards, but they are one of the most delusional/obnoxious fanbases I've ever come across. They somehow try to make any and all threads about LSU ("LSU broke them", "2019 GOAT team", muh Burrow) even when the subject has absolutely nothing at all to do with LSU, and they take being a homer to extraordinary, mind-boggling levels.

These clowns still try to chest thump about Kirby's record against Orgeron, including in that very thread. Like this matters at all. Those were two losses to a top 10 team on the road and the national champion in the SECC. We're supposed to somehow be ashamed of that? Their current coach is also 0-3 against UGA but they'll seethe and piss and shite themselves any time you point this out.

They also lose their fricking minds if you ever suggest UGA is the superior program, even though there is a very clear and objective case for it being true.

Insufferable fanbase.

The way they bring up 2019 like it was yesterday is pure insanity.
4 fKN seasons ago. Give it up.

The notion that Richt left Kirby some kind of loaded roster has always been funny to me. We had some talent, sure. I’ve seen Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, and now LSU fans parrot this line to make up for their own shortcomings and take away from Kirby’s early success.

Difference also being Kirby had never coached before. BK has been a head coach for 30 years when coming to LSU

Which class of Richts was a total bust? 2012 or 2013?
We wound up having no seniors one year.

2013 had over 30 players and almost no contributors

The cupboard was full when Kirby arrived just makes LSU and others feel better.

Now you have recruiting + NIL + portal. You can change over 50% of your team in one year.

Threads like that (not just this one on the tiger rant, but you seem them pretty commonly all over the place) are so irritating because they are blatantly misrepresenting facts. As you said, the #1 thing everyone conveniently glosses over in regards to kirby is that this is literally his first HC job. Even saban, the greatest ever who certainly doesn't need people defending his credentials, was a HC or NFL assistant for like 13 years before his first title (in a year where they lost at home to a team with 5 losses btw). Kelly has an even longer standing career. The fact that he's doing what he is so early in his career is remarkable.

And the roster issue...yeesh. Our rivals don't watch every snap like we do so I try to give them a little grace in that regard. They simply type into google "2015 georgia bulldogs" and see it spit out a 10-3 record and think "well damn, they must have returned a full cupboard for his first year!" Obviously we know much, much better than that but it's futile trying to argue with some of these numbskulls.

Went through a period where they mentioned Burrow's "big dick" a whole lot. Then they turn around and call Aggie gay.

It's a sad attempt at the other fan bases to down play what Kirby actually had to do to turn things around.

It wasn't easy...I remember when he came in he said both lines of scrimmage were ~small and depleted.

Kirby was left a better roster but things change a heck of a lot faster now with the transfer portal.

True. I really wonder about how much different the inherited rosters are too. Jayden Daniels is obviously a massive upgrade from greyson lambert. Boutte and Nabors are better than isaiah mckenzie and terry godwin. We had solid WRs physically on the roster (like mecole and ridley) but both were freshmen who hadn't played a snap yet heading into 2016. WE of course ahve the edge at RB, although john emery and noah cain aren't slouches.

Defense I assume we have the edge although BJ Ojulari, Maason smith, Jaq roy, harold perkins, etc are noteworthy.

Top to bottom, yeah we probably did have the better roster on man #1-22, but it's not like a vanderbilt --> bama type of comparision like people make it out to be.

I am even curious if 3x national champion would get him credit.

Let’s try and see.

They'll claim it was the schedule and that even 3x pale to 2019.
