First and foremost, my condolences on your loss.

However, that has absolutly nothing to do with the topic on hand, which is "should we sell beer in Sanford Stadium"

Nobody who posted before you mentioned anything about getting belligerently drunk. Samson'sseed suggested that serving alcohol would boost the overall atmosphere inside the stadium. gatahata said that most people smuggle booze into the game anyways, and then you came out with
quote:

If you need alcohol to make yourself feel good then you are in sad shape.

Nothing short of a condescending remark criticizing those who drink or want beer to be served inside the stadium. Also WGDAWG makes some excellent points about how selling beer would actually prevent people from "wallowing in their own piss" because the allure to binge drink like an a-hole would be moot since you would be able to continue drinking inside the stadium and not have to funnel a six pack before you walk in the gates.

You are entitled to your opinion, the only reason for my remarks was because your response seemed unwarranted and condescending as shite.

Well, the bunch of "blue hairs" I am with at games are not quiet or sitting down during the games. I agree that there needs to be more noise from our fans. But this issue was being discussed 48 years ago when I was in school. Hasn't changed all that much. More people, but not much more noise.

Fair enough. My experience was a little different having been asked to sit down by the people behind me a time or two.

I hadn't thought about it before but there may be some validity to people not drinking as much before the game if they can drink during it. I can remember many times slamming beers before heading in that I probably wouldn't have if I could buy inside. Also people might head in earlier and we'd have a full stadium at kickoff if people didn't have to get that last one down before....

I don't remember a large portion of the 06-10 seasons because I would start chugging whiskey before heading into the games. That wouldn't have happened if they sold beer in the stadium. And as a little proof, I have been much more composed at all our bowl games, knowing that I could keep drinking inside.

That's been my experience at church.

I'm not able to attend games any more because my wife is disabled and it's just easier to watch on tv.

But from the volume on the television, Sanford Stadium does sound pretty loud.

Sanford does get loud, plenty loud. Fact is, Go to any big 6 SEC school or big time ACC or any other program and every stadium can get the same amount of loud for a big game. The issue with Sanford is it's not sustained. We'll get deafening for like 3 total plays in the whole game then just average the rest of the time.
