UGA leads the nation with 14 5*'s on the roster this past season.

Bama in 2nd place with 12.

Oh St - 11

Clemson - 9

UGA was in third place on 4* recruits on the roster.

Oh St- 55
Alabama - 51
UGA - 47

Overall, total composite ratings of the whole roster:

Oh St- 92.89
Alabama - 92.56
UGA - 92.07

We're basically splitting hairs here.

Here's the good news...

Those numbers are based on the 2018 roster.

Once those numbers are updated after signing day, and alot of our 2*/3*/4* guys graduate/declare, and are replaced with 3*/4*/5*, it is very likely we will have the most talented roster in college football, on paper. Even if we finish second or third in this cycle.

This is something to be excited about.

It was only 3 or 4 short years ago we were all thinking "we just need to recruit the line of scrimmage better, Richt recruits the skill positions very well, but we aren't getting those monsters in the trenches".

Look where we are now.

We are going to remain a contender for the foreseeable future. Don't let the negadawgs bring you down.

No Negadawg here. We will be taking it to the NCCG next year and whoever we play, we will kick their arse.

How many of those 4-5 stars have we lost the last couple of days? Recruiting titles mean little if the players aren’t on the team. Where would last years class rank without fields and ford because that is where we are at.

No excuses for Kirby next year. It’s his job to mold and develop that immense group of talent into a successful team. Next year we find out if Kirby is a great coach and recruiter or just a great recruiter.

I think this is true.

Even with the juniors declaring, we should have a helluva team in 2019. Fromm as a seasoned veteran and what could be the best offensive line in school history. Lots of skilled receivers...plenty good at RB, especially if Zamir White is 100%. Meanwhile, the defense should be impressive.

Across the board, there will be a lot of 4 and 5 star talent on the roster.

It's going to be hard to come up with excuses if we're not in the playoff mix at end of 2019.

The injury gods always get their say in how a season goes. Assuming we're not particularly unlucky on that front, we should be very, very good.

You make a good point. And attrition plagued Richt's top 10 recruising classes as well.

But we still have a crap load of talent and a good bit of them will be juniors and sophomores (with experience). 2019 is the year.

We were unlucky this season.

We played the SECCG and Sugar Bowl with our 4th string RG. Huge injuries at tailback, DB, OLB. Injuries at ILB, all along the OL, and DL. That is the type of injury season where we lost to Vandy and finish in a bad bowl with a bad loss to a bad UCF.

We aren't unique. Bama won the NCG in 2017 after losing tons of linebackers. That is the goal. To be able to sustain a season with goals in tact to the end. 2019 will be a great opportunity.

When it is recalculated, we will have lost two 5*s.

Fields (Transfer) and Godwin (Graduation).

We will have signed five more 5*s (already signed) with another 1 or 2 possible by Feb.

Net gain of 3+ five-star players.

Appreciate Godwin but don't see how he was ever a 5 star. I do appreciate everything he did for us though.
