Does anyone in here think we will have a new DC by Friday?
If we do, it can't be officially announced because of the state required 2 weeks it has to remain open.
However, I'd say it's likely we find our guy by this time next Monday. Being that it's January, I expect this to go quick. Whether we get someone immediately, or whiff a few times and go down the ladder, I wouldnt' expect the whole process to take too terribly long.

Can someone sign a contract and not announce for 5 days?

Apparently there are ways to get around this. Wilson was recruiting for UGA before the hire was officially announced.
If we don't at least make a serious attempt to hire Smart, I'll be very pissed off. If we get turned down, we get turned down. No big deal. We need to at least try though

It will take at least a week for Chizik to thaw out so that he can interview..........

C'mon it's Kirk Olivadotti...you all know it deep down. And we only have to bump him up to about $450K.
Over five years KO practically pays for himself... the extra money saved over paying someone like Smart going to an indoor practice facility.

What makes you think we wouldn't? The fact he's the only name that's seriously getting throw around right now, and the rumors that Bobo has been talking to him for weeks, should be enough at this point to show we're serious.
If we don't get kirby, it certainly won't be because we didnt' take it seriously. We'll offer him a handsome amount for a career coordinator.

They better be bending over backwards even if it means demoting JT II. That's what I worry about.

God you're an a-hole. I didn't scroll down far enough on my phone, so it was an emotional 10 seconds

I think it's just the fact that I'm a Georgia fan and have trained myself to use great caution before getting my hopes up.

Come on Kirby get to coach at your alma mater with your best bud and lock down the state.
How can you not want it

The only doubts he could have IMO is if he really is in-line to be our next HC and if Georgia is willing to be as committed as Alabama whether it's the strength program, hiring analysts, or whatever. I'd hope Georgia would be fully open to letting Kirby breathe life in this program because right now it's as complacent as ever.

But that's not the Georgia way! The Georgia Way is to go all in on whatever we're currently thinking about. I've already posted on facebook/twitter/instagram/vine/xanga that Kirby is our new DC and will be HC next year after we win the natty and Richt retires. Also went ahead and booked plane tix to dallas and bought a throwback Smart player tee.
I'm Georgia, are you?

So I read a Bama paper that said Richt is in frequent pain and that the rumor that he may retire soon is real. Idk if true.
