It was the real money bowls that were the problem not the smaller ones.

Have you noticed that when you talk to die hard college fans or listen to callers on a college football radio show, nobody is really excited about this thing or thinks it was necessary? But then if you turn on a Disney owned sports network or one of the others that are about to cash in, their talking heads speak as if it’s the greatest thing to ever happen to the sport?

Kind of like how you’re sitting there in 2021 wondering why you need a risky vaccine for something you have a 99.9% chance of surviving, but then you turn on a news network who’s #1 sponsor are the companies that make the vaccine, and the talking heads are all telling you the world will end if you don’t take the shot.

What a world.

It makes me shake my head every single time, I listen to the radio on the way to work in the mornings and prety much daily there's some new commercial about how YOU MUST GET THE BOOSTER and all the benefits of the booster and how harmful it is not to get the booster and c'mon everyone let's all do our part to save lives and GET THE BOOSTER. Then at the end without fail its "sponsored by BionTech and Pfizer".

How do rational thinking adults not see through this shite? Obviously the company that makes it is going to try to force you to take it, it's no different than burger king trying to get you to buy a whopper. Only BK doesn't shame you for being a murderous leach on society if you don't get one.

This season it’s difficult say there are 4 playoff-worthy teams. Now they are letting teams like Tulane sneak in

These people are hapless victims of “organized crime“.

That probably sounds extreme to dolts who are already reaching for the red colored downward arrow button. But did you know there are only two countries on planet earth that allow pharmaceutical companies to advertise directly to consumers?

Do you think the United States government allows this because of some principle or value? Or do you think they allow it because they get paid by the pharmaceutical companies to allow it same as the media gets paid to push it?

Your country doesn’t exist anymore. It’s basically just a bunch of organized crime syndicates battling each other over the remaining carcass of America. And there’s no fixing it. We are doomed. Enjoy your evening!

At least Burger King gives you a paper crown to wear, if you ask for it. All they give you at the publix pharmacy is myocarditis.

Oh I agree that 4 is perfect, and I've never had a gripe with anyone the committee has put in.

I'm going to ask a lazy question that I could look up myself, but I hope someone else already knows.

In the playoff era, how often does the lower seed beat the higher seed in the semi?

I know that OSU (14) and Alabama (17) were the only #4 seeds to ever win the title, while UGA (21) is the only #3 seed to win it all. #3 Clemson beat #2 OSU in 2019 to face LSU in the title game, but got smoked.

Outside of that the title is typically shared between 1 and 2, with even results over the CFP's run.

Going forward, afterTexas and Oklahoma join the SEC, and once the 12 team tournament gets saddled on, I really think the most prestigious and real accomplishment and trophy in college football might just be to win the SEC Championship.

Because the winner of the 12 team corporate playoff is really only winning a separate weird tournament at the end of the season.

And with all the glitches and things that are going to allow the #18 ranked team into the tournament, and how a team with 3 losses can get a bye over a team with 1 loss in that tournament…. not to mention all the injuries that are going to happen between November 26th and friggin January 20th, i mean… it just leaves too much room to crown a false and compromised champion.

This is my gripe. NFL players are always talking about how playing 20 games between the regular season and playoffs is absurd, draining, and injury inducing.

But everyone in CFB is just fine with throwing the college players into the fire and loading them up with upwards of 17 games in a single season. Injury rates will skyrocket and the teams will start the god awful process of "load management" throughout the regular season.

Further watering down the most important part of CFB.

Like it or not, they are not done with a 12 team playoff. It will be a 16 team playoff before we know it.

They should at least limit commercial breaks if they're going to make us suffer through more playoff games. Commercials are ruining cfb just as much as this crap is. I can't stand the effing commercials.

The whole thing is stupid as frick.

Other than Alabama and OhSt, who in the top 12 in today's ranking has any chance in hell of actually competing in a 3 or 4 round playoff with a 50/50 chance to win it all? It's a dog and pony show.

Agree.
If they are determined to expand, doubling it to 8 teams makes more sense.
This would include all 5 major conferences plus 3 other worthy representatives.
So this season if everyone wins their conference game it might include:
Georgia
Michigan
TSU
USC
Clemson
OSU
Tennessee
Alabama

The best team after 17 games may be the one that is lucky with injuries. That is a long season and a lot of football for a “student athlete “
