we didn't recruit 2-star players
But Clemson didn't either. Yes, they have some unproven players going into the game (as do we) but the talent level is high.

The secondary will do enough.
Inexperienced players make mistakes and it doesn't take many to allow those 4 star and 5 star receivers to make some big plays. Better hope our DL is really as advertised.

I agree, but I asked how are they going to put up a significant point total? Sure, their WR are highly rated players. Those same WRs didn't win the starting position last year, are new or are coming of the injured reserved. It's similar to our secondary. Why do you assume they will do well and our secondary will not?
I understand it is easier to play WR than Secondary. With that said we still don't know what they have. As I said, our secondary would "do enough" I didn't say play lights out.
Clemson was 11th in the ACC in rushing last year, and they are going against the nation's best rush D. They will be one-dimensional, unlike UGA. They will not score 40 unless their WRs play all world or our secondary is complete garbage. I want to think it fall in the middle.
We want to see this new high power offense but I think it will look similar to UGA of years past. Our WRs are banged up. What we do have is a stable of backs and a good O-line. Let's not forget Ohio State ran for 250 yards on Clemson.
I'm predicting low scoring game (28-21). Vegas has the total at 52 That sounds about right to me IMHO.

In Clemson's two losses last year, they ran for 34 yds against ND and 44 yds against Ohio St. This plays well into our hands. Our rush defense was no 1 in the nation last year. If we stop their run - say under 50 yards - we probably win. I expect us to run for about 130 yds - just enough to spread the field for JTD's passing. If we stop their run, expect them to pass for 350 yds or so, but we should win.

Did anyone happen to catch Around the Dawghouse this morning? There’s a title saying Dabo might have revealed a big advantage for UGA. Just wondered what I missed.

Dabo was discussing the center position.
He said it was still up in the air who will start and they could play multiple players.

You could be right, but I am going to sit this right here:
In Clemson's three lowest scoring games they scored 28 points once and 34 points twice. All other games were 40+ points EXCEPT Wake Forest which was 37 points.
I don't think saying they could score 35+ points on us is inconceivable.
They may not. We gave up 41 points to Alabama and 44 points to Florida. Offense was not a problem for Clemson last season....it was defense.
Sort answer: We struggled against high powered offenses and shut down average to below average offenses.
Interesting factoid: Clemson scored the same number of points against Notre Dame with Uiagalelei as they did with Trevor Lawrence over a 4 quarter game.

This could be huge for us. Center is not the position you want to run multiple players in and out.

I feel like this is a chance for a signature win for Kirby (kinda like the win over Oklahoma in the playoffs)
all this talk of "oh both teams will be fine win or lose"....I say frick that.
this is Kirby's most talented team from a recruiting standpoint, a lot of continuity with the coaches, a good QB and a solid defense with a now well-known offensive scheme.
IMO us losing this game would be a major let down for me.
Kirby needs to win this one as it would ignite would could be a very special season for us barring disaster.

Hard to find fault with any of this. I mean, true we could still go to the playoffs with a loss to Clemson, but that would make winning the SEC a necessity.
However, beat Clemson, and if we were to lose a close on in the SECCG we could still go to the playoffs.
It also (like you pointed out) means a lot in program perception. This is a big game.

There are also rumors out there that DT Tyler Davis has COVID and Justyn Ross has a broken foot.

Wow. If they are missing those two players it would be devastating for them.
Just a bit of clarification and speculation....Dabo was asked if their CB, Fred Davis, was going to play, and his response was some thing to the effect that, their expectation was that if a player is not injured (I would assume Covid would be included in this) they would play. Could that have been a hint that they might have a some players they expect to be out?
I don't now. It's all speculation and rumors right now.
ETA
I would also say that if they are missing those two players that you can bet Clemson will try to use that as an excuse they should still be in the playoffs if they lose to us.

Clemson took their foot off the gas in the second meeting. They could have put 50 on the board if they wanted to.

It's still a healthy number of points. People who think we will win because Clemson is playing a new QB might be surprised. We will need to rely on taking advantage of their weaker safeties and their weak middle of the OLine. They have places we can exploit, but so do they.
It will come down to who can exploit the weaknesses best.

Well apparently there’s a new Covid situation, and it involves Ron Courson.

Clemson has the same issue with starting DLine.
Also, sounds like Ross rolled his ankle badly.
