Why the frick is swift not getting more carries. I realize we want to get Herrien some touches, but it should not even be close to 50/50 or even 60/40.

Yeah, effective offenses keep defenses on their toes. It's hard to do that when we almost always run on first and 2nd downs and then get ourselves in obvious passing situations on 3rd and long.
