The new owner also owns Sweetwater and they're moving all of the Athens operations up to Atlanta. It's kind of a bummer, but Terrapin has gradually gone down hill since the guys sold out and started Creature Comforts.

The tasting room was a blast 15-20 something years ago getting hammered in the field listening to live music. I'd volunteer there and get boxes of miss filed bottles.

I did not realize the original Terrapin folks were behind CC. Although Terrapin was first on the scene the key move for CC was getting that downtown facility up and running. That has become an anchor for downtown.

On a side note Normaltown brewery which used to be a hole in the wall in the chase street warehouse has been open on Barber St. in the old JJ's roaster. It is a really cool laid back scene, jazz on wednesdays. I ain't allowed to drink beer anymore but i assume the product is tolerable good.

Beer is declining like crazy for fruity seltzer drinks.

Hipsters fueld the brewery surge. And now hipsters have aged out and gotten more boring and less obnoxious.

Spike sold to anheisur-busch long ago. I'm surprised it took this long for them to shutter.

The real question is what is the scenery like in said place?

That's pretty much what caused Terrapin's decline. The original investors wanted out so Spike had to sell out to Molson to pay them off. Molson sold it to the current owners who are one of the first legal cannabis producers. It was a good run while it lasted.

Can’t say Terrapin beer was my favorite but I did really like their Hopsecutioner. They seemed to always try interesting flavor combos like peanut butter bacon, etc. It was good for an in person brewery environment but not something I’d jump to buy in stores.

The Turd Monster awoke.

Shaken

The turd pile has dried out in this heat . which doesnt make for the greatest pile to relax upon. Not the least of which is the sound of crunch every time he tossed or turned.

The dream that shook him wasnt new. Youve seen this movie through and through.

He relived his bladder and laid back on the pile. Almost hoping to see the credits. The shadow fugures filed slowly languidly into the cave.

Is this still a dream? Crunch, crunch the sounds went as he asked the first flashlight in his face. .

Hey. Where did my poser brewery go?

Does this mean that McSnoot Ale will no longer be available?

McSnoot is Creature Comforts/Turd Monster. They are the ones who put Terrapin out of business.

This means more McSnoot will be consumed.
