So happy for Tae! Converted 2* RB becomes a drafted LB in the NFL. Hell of a story!

Really damn happy for him. I let out a "yes" when they said his name. Well deserved. Worked his arse off.

He turned into one hell of a player this season. I kept expecting Dean, Quay Walker and Tindall to supplant him this year but it never happened. I’m so happy for him.

Might be due to his age. Other than that, no idea.

Somewhat of a loaded position group

If I am being a non-homer and trying to think like an NFL talent evaluator...

I would say age, and lack of ideal NFL measurables for a safety outweighed football IQ. Won't matter if he diagnoses every play correctly if he is .1 late getting there or gets trucked by a WR who is bigger and stronger even when he IS in position.

He was a Thorpe Award finalist and first team AP All-American. You’d think that would carry at least a little weight.

Yes...and I know it's a different position but...Charlie Ward won the Heisman and went undrafted. Measurables count when you are considering draft picks.

Reed was a really good player for us and one of my favorites last year. That's why I prefaced what I said with giving a non-homer evaluation.

I agree with most of you that he could easily catch on and prove that he can stay on the field in the NFL. I'm just not surprised he didn't get drafted.

Also, as someone else pointed out, it was a deep position group this year.

Ward was known to want the NBA. It's different for a lot of reasons.

He was rated .80 as a wr/rb recruit. .799 would be a 2 star. I'm sure we could let it slide.

Agreed. it's a great story no matter what. No need to label him as something he wasn't
