It's another year with an embarrassment of riches at running back.

We have four backs with over 5ypc from last year that are returning this year.

Cook (#2 in SEC)
Daijun Edwards
Zamir White
Kenny McIntosh

Of the top 20 rb's (ypc) that are returning for 2021 in the SEC -

UGA - 4
TAMU- 3
Auburn - 2
South Carolina - 2
UK - 1
LSU - 1
Tenn - 1
Mizzou - 1
LSU - 1
Arky - 1
Ole Miss - 1

Bama - 1

Florida 0
Ms St 0
Vandy 0

This is definitely a great stable. No question about it. But, none of them hold a candle to years past

Chubb continued the high watermark of Gurley, etc

Since him, it’s never been threatened.

Need these four to step up

Daijun Edwards in his limited carries last year looked like the next Deandre Swift.

Of White, Cook, Milton, and McIntosh, we only need one of those guys to step up from good to great to continue our tradition of the one-two punch. Especially if we intend to pass more often... we won't need a triumvirate.

I think White and Milton will separate and be the 1-2 punch that we're used to while Cook plays a role similar to what Curtis Samuel did for Ohio State.

We need to use them properly.

Zeus needs to be the meat hammer to soften up defenses for Cook and the others. Let him grind out his 3 and 4 yard gains while JT hits play actions and then in the 2nd half, the rest of the backs start tearing off 15-yarders while the receivers are eating the middle of the field alive.

Nice. Hard to predict which one of this group will be the best.

There are only 19 numbered here. Who is the other 1? Who is the returning RB for TN with over 5ypc?

I think when I disco'd the non-returners I didn't dive deep enough beyond #20, thus only 19 listed.

Here's my source link.

I'd be happy if you figured it out for me.

I want to see Cook in the slot running slants and occasionally in a two-back set. He just needs to be on the field nearly every play to put fear in every opponents defensive backfield.

Gray and Chandler are both gone. So TN = 0.

He is most dangerous out wide on the sideline.
