The case for South Carolina covering the spread

-- Muschamp presumably has put more emphasis on this game and really wants to win this game. He knows that beating Georgia is important to recruiting Georgia. Reminds me of Lane Kiffen's comments after the game in 2009 when Tennessee jumped us. Muschamp started making Georgia cracks and jokes as soon as he got the job. Will resort to his all of his best Knute Rockne motivational speeches and tactics. No telling how many hours he and his staff have been game planning for Georgia since last February... Bentley can scramble and buy/bide time until his receivers get behind our secondary like Missouri was able to do.. Playing against the #1 team will give South Carolina even more juice. It's something that Georgia will have to get used to the rest of this season.

The case for South Carolina getting embarrassed and humbled

-- Georgia has dam near double the total yardage of its opponents in SEC play (483-283 on average), which is just amazing and unprecedented and borderline erotic and something that we've never seen as Georgia fans. South Carolina has been outgained on average in its SEC games (363-345). That's typically reserved for half-assed teams and outright bad teams... Kirby also is crazy and neurotic and he too wants to beat the hell out of his old buddy Muschamp... There will be a serious buzz in Sanford Stadium after our number 1 ranking. Remember how geeked up Sanford was for the Georgia Southern game in 2008 (last time we were number 1). When they did the transferring of the ceremonial UGA collar, that's on of the loudest moments I can ever remember at the stadium.

GEORGIA -- 38
S. CAROLINA -- 10

There hasn't been much talk about our secondary but after a few watches of the FL game - they were playing lights out. If we go in with the same defensive plan and can get a push with our DL Bentley will be in trouble. We should be able to pressure them without blitzing. That is IF we play with the same intensity.

My only concern is that we show up at half speed and stall out scoring points....but I have faith in the staff not to do this. Much more so than in years past. I don't like the fact that ALL of the talk this week has been about Bama and being #1.

The planets could align to make this a tough one for us but if we have any success gashing them up front we should dominate. I'm glad we're at home.

This is something championship teams just don't do.

We have to win this game...like we have to win it. Most years its like eh, we can win or lose, doesnt matter cause we are out of it and even if we do win the east, bama will kill us.

Not this year. We can do something special as there isn't any super dominant teams this year. This could be the year and the only way we are gonna get there is to keep winning.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us air it out a bit on the first drive to get some quick points on the board. If we go up two touchdowns early, the game will essentially be over.

If we only score 38 points, then it's because Kirby takes his foot off the gas because Muschamp is his friend. And I'll be pissed. I'll write him a strongly worded letter.

Edwards, Hurst and Shi Smith have turned into a strong receiving corps for South Carolina. Bentley's passing has been erratic this year, but he's good with the short stuff and can still get a hot hand for the deeper throws. They'll probably load the box on defense, try to stop the run and force Fromm into mistakes. If they do most or all of those things well, this will be a tough game

I missed it. Was that when he said bad things about Auburn?

I just don't see them hanging around. They don't have the talent (yet). SC will be a force to be reckoned with, but not this year. Dawgs roll.

It is a simple opinion and statement of the obvious. There's mainly two kinds of football message board predictions. The ones that state the obvious and the (frequently overconfident) guesses. Despite the constant bluster, just not that many real experts throwing out meaningful info.

But we, including sc fans, want to know what you meant by this:

I thought that fell under statement of the obvious. If not, look up "groupthink" or "peer pressure"

I’m watching the vandy/USC game and not only did vandy pass at will but they had good success running. Our backs are going to have a hay day.

I say we have 280 yards rushing and Fromm goes 7/10, 150 yards passing.

Their O-line is really thin. People playing out of position. If we can get to Bentley early and often, we can dominate this game. I just don't think they can score much against us.

The only way SC covers is if we don't score 24, which won't happen.

If there is one thing we do exceptionally well (and I know there are lots of things that fall in that category) is that we know how to make adjustments. Whether in game, half time, or between games, our coaches have shown they know how to prepare and adapt. It warms my soul.
