I get that. What I was saying is that I think that we will cancel all other OOC P4 scheduled home-home matchups. The only one I think might stay is Clemson since they’re a traditional rivalry.

Unacceptable.

I don’t care about fair. UGA must play AU and UF yearly.

As expensive as rent a win games have become, this is a good move. Might as well keep the money in the conference
With GT locked in as the OOC P4 game, UGA should rotate a G5 opening with GA Southern, GA State, and Kennesaw State and keep the revenue local.

And Mercer.
I didn’t include them as they are FCS and private, but if FCS were to be included, UWG would have to be in the rotation.

Is UWG FCS? If so then get them too. I’d love to play all instate cupcakes, private or not.

Yes, UWG reclassified in 20024. They are in the ASUN.
National powers shouldn’t play FCS teams, in my opinion.

I agree. I made this case 10 years ago on this board and people were scared to death of Georgia Southern, like it would give them clout and hurt our recruiting. Ridiculous.

I've said this since KSU's team debuted 10 years ago.

Where is it stated Florida is our only locked in opponent?
Why is this debate coming up again, I thought this was already decided before last season, we have Florida, Auburn, and Kentucky, as the schedule has already reflected. Nobody wants to go to Columbia every other season.

we had any smarts at all we'd drop every single OOC game we have currently scheduled other than tech. It makes literally zero logical rational sense at all to try to make our already ever-increasingly difficult schedule even harder.
As a fan I I enjoyed the big Clemson and Oregon openers but you’re right. If the goal is to make the CFP and with a typical SEC schedule being hard AF there’s no reason to add any more. It sucks but that’s the reality.

Agreed for now, but I think long term UGA is going to have to consider altering the frequency of the GT series to allow for participation in more notable OOC games and venues. I know that isn’t going to be popular, but in the new world of college football, UGA can’t just cede the most high profile games and associated publicity to Alabama, Texas, OSU, etc. Maybe you play Tech every other year or 2/3 years instead.

If I may, how old are you? (not asking disrepectfully)

True, but the day UF, AU, and GT aren't on our schedule is the day I walk away from CFB. My interest is already hanging by a thread. I could say more, but my apathy negates it.

It's more likely we go to 13 games than for UGA-GT to be dropped, same for UF-FSU, USC-CU and some others. The reason I believe this is think of how much TV money is generated in one football weekend. Add one more = profit.
It could informally be called Cupcake Week, where all the teams get one of their cupcakes out of the way, and people would still watch because they are starved for football. The 9th SEC game would replace what would have been that cupcake in November. Then Week 2 would be on Labor Day weekend and would have all the classic marquee matchups we've come to love with UGA-Clemson/Oregon/Notre Dame etc. and still keep GT.

I’m in my thirties.
I’m just being realistic about UGA’s financial and competitive interests.

You won't find many above 50 willing to give up GT as an annual game.
Remember how nervous you were during the multiple OT game last season? It used to be like that year-round, and just wait to you get the sick feeling in your gut when you see GT folk actually wearing GT gear after they win one.

That’s all well and good (and I agree as a fan), but that doesn’t help Kirby Smart win national championships, players get NIL sponsorships, or improve Josh Brooks’ bottom line.

Dropping tech so we can play Ohio state instead sure doesn't do that either
