Since things are going to be interesting in the mid 20's with other conferences...do you think any kind of expansion will happen?

Im hoping for a contraction, lose mizz and tamu, keep 8 game schedule and play 3 west teams every year.

Considering I’ve had tacos for the last two meals, I’m hoping the same thing.

Also, Cuck Oliver's "SEC 2" is not a bad idea, it's the only format in which I would support an expansion.

You have the 8 to 10 team SEC, then the 8 to 10 team SEC 2.

Each year the bottom two teams in SEC 1, then you have to get sent down to the SEC 2. And the top two teams in the SEC 2, you get to play in the SEC 1.

Every team gets two permanent rivals if they choose regardless of which SEC they are in.

Basically there are still two divisions but it's a top and bottom, not geographical division.

It's a scheduling/logistics nightmare.

I don't understand. UGA will play at least 3 top ten teams most years to reach the playoff while Clemson, OSU, and OU may play 2 in a tough season.

What's the benefit of adding more?

It's not a scheduling or logistics nightmare at all. A few basic excel formulas could extrapolate it all out years in advance, as placeholders not necessarily teams ( except the permanents).

I always forget about mizzou until the season starts and I'm like "why are we playing Vandy in August? Oh right. Missouri. " frick them. What a terrible add.

Expand to a 9 game schedule, that's it.

It was a huge mistake adding A&M and Misery
to the SEC. Wish the powers that be would give them their walking paper and go back to 12 teams. Wouldn’t upset me to see SC and Ark sent elsewhere too.

As much as I hate the 9 game idea, I think that's where it is headed.

Hell, with the number of teams destroying themselves, not sure 9 games adds much more to the difficulty but does let us play the west more often and cuts down on $1.6m payouts to UMass type teams.

Where are you getting this idea from?

I agree. You COULDN'T make any kind of schedule until after the season.

12 & 16 teams makes scheduling easier on keeping rivalries than 14.

Say "My Team" wants an annual rival who does poorly & goes to SEC2. "Your Team" does NOT want a rival. Is "My Team" at a disadvantage because they're not playing an ALL "SEC1" schedule?

9 games (or more) HURTS UGA.

4H/5A - SEC teams (9 games)
GT (game 10)
Game 11
Game 12
------------
7H/5A schedule

5H/4A - SEC teams (9 games)
@ GT (game 10)
Game 11
Game 12
------------
7H/5A schedule

Dawgs would ALWAYS have to host Games 11 & 12 to keep a 7H season.
& we criticize the Swamp Rats for never leaving Florida.
