Yes to two of those points.
JT had just as many turnovers against Cincy as Stet did against Bama, and we scored the same # of points (technically fewer offensively). We just weren’t playing Bama’s offense.

I don’t think so.
We couldn’t run the ball against Auburn at all this year. Same thing applies to Arkansas last year, and you could argue Auburn and Tennessee as well. Now, none of those are great teams, but again, it’s not a world’s difference between JT and Stet unless you’re incredibly biased, which we all tend to be.

What if our defense makes some stops, we run the ball a bit more, and keep the pass attempts in the low 30s?
With no turnovers? Sure I'm all for it.

If you want to beat Bama you have to find a way to put up at least 30-40 points, Kirby has yet to score more than 28 on Saban and he gets shutdown in the 2nd half every game. Go back and look at all the better teams Kirby has faced, he proves time and time again he cant put up points, he wins most of the games but against the better offense Kirby always gets blown out!

It’s not every time, but I do understand your point.

UGA is 2-1 vs top 20 offenses this year. Michigan is #18. UGA is #27 Nationally and #5 in the SEC in total offense this year.
Smart is 12-7 vs top 10 teams, which is really good.
UGA didn’t need 40 points to beat Bama in the NC game. They just needed to stop Bama in OT. They did not. We are not in the doomsday scenario you have let yourself think we are… It’s going to be ok.

Peter, if all that came true, I would be ecstatic. What happens if we don't run more and the D is just as lost? I guess we settle for an L? We could run more, have a better performance from our D and throw less than 30 attempts with JT in the game. If shite goes south like it did last game, I know who I would rather have in there. I love Stet but he doesn't bring anything JT can't. Stet can run, but the 11 yards he had last game didn't change the outcome.

Why do you think JT is not playing?
Posted on 12/21/21 at 8:21 am to Peter Buck
Why are other people not allowed to have an opinion without you reacting? Why is it so personal?
I don't need to know why he isn't playing to have a desire to see him play. Would you like to fill the class in with the why, or are you just trying to ask an unknow so the conversation ends?

I ask because I am curious what you think the issue is that is keeping him from not getting in.

I don't think I need to know why he isn't playing to have a opinion on who I would rather see on the field. Obviously, we would all like to know why, but Kirby is Kirby. He seems to think he is in a Cloaks and Dagger movie which is quite annoying.

Good thing. Weather its what is the deal with JT or what really happened with Arik Gilbert there's a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa than getting info on something Kirby wants to keep a lid on.
Posted on 12/21/21 at 9:35 am to TrackDawg
So, you want him to play as long as there are no underlying health or discipline issues?
Posted on 12/21/21 at 9:57 am to Peter Buck
Your games is boring. People are allowed to have differing opinions than you. Why is this so personal? Why do you have 7000 posts on this topic alone?

Which team? How many points did JT put up?

Yea Pete I know they didn’t need 40 points to beat Bama in the NC but 30 would have done it, something Kirby has yet to do against better teams.. what else is it going to take before we realize that his love affair with “game managers” could potentially cost us 1 maybe 2 nattys?!?
Kirby has faced Saban 4 times and he’s only managed to score 21 points after halftime. 24 if you want to count the 3 points in OT.
That’s 8 quarters of basically ZERO offensive production (2.6 points per quarter) Sorry but you’ll never be able to convince me that it’s a defensive problem…

He almost hit 400 yards passing against Cincy and he led the game winning drive.

Don’t worry, Peter can’t.

Let’s compare passer rating:
158 > 133
Let’s compare pick 6’s:
0 > 1

This is wrong. Our top 3 backs ran for plenty.
Bennett has never had to deal with a terrible run game like JTD had to deal with vs miss state and Cincy.

At halftime of the Auburn game our RBs had 11 rushes for under 30 yards.
I didn’t include Mississippi State because they were a bad team. Same reason I felt bad including UAB this year, or Tenn and Auburn last year.
