Potential path to the title game

Everyone was talking about not playing this game, it’s better to be hosting a playoff game, etc.
Well looking at it now, our path would be winner of ND/Indiana in the Sugar Bowl, and then Boise St or winner of Clemson Penn State in the Semifinals
We get 2 weeks to prepare for ND and Indiana, then 1 week to fully prepare for the winner of that game. Meanwhile, they each have to prepare for that game for 2 weeks, then only 1 week to prepare for us….and that’s after playing a game the week before us.

We didnt want this game. BUT if we had to you gotta win. Look at the major injuries for a game with both teams already in playoffs.
Looks like OSU or Penn State vs Indiana to me.
ND/SMU - AsU
Texas/clemson - Boise
OSU/Indiana - Georgia
Penn St/Tenner - Oregon
And we get 3 weeks to prepare (try and heal some). They get 1.5 weeks to prepare for us.
IMO the outcomes of yesterday cost TN a home game and booted Bama.

That would be a farce and should be roundly criticized by every non-BIG 10 athletic director in the country if it happens. The only reason 4 big 10 teams are in this thing is because of incestuous scheduling in a weak conference. The charade should not continue in the playoffs.
Giving Ohio State or Penn State a first round game against Indiana, which should not even be in the final 12, would be a huge black eye for the committee.

I'm happy we won, but the outcome of the SECCG doesn't invalidate the pre-game discussion about the risks vs benefits of playing that game. Risk vs benefit analysis is forward looking, not backward. With last night's victory, some of both the benefits and risks of playing a top SEC opponent (in what's essentially a first round game) were borne out, but those outcomes were all just probabilities beforehand.

They will put us at #2 seed and put Bama as the #11 seed
We will have to exercise our demons.

I agree but they have 3 of them in the middle of 8 teams. 2 in the top half. ND won’t move bc they didn’t play. There almost has to be some combination of two of them playing..unless the committee tosses out all their rankings and creates the matchups they want.

Maybe he meant we will have to have our demons ride a bike or go for a jog?….

If they're too tired to catch up to us and ruin this season, IDGAF what keeps them away

If Bama gets in they need to work the rankings so they have to play Texas.
That said, if SMU gets left out they invalidate playing Conf Championships. SMU would get smoked by everyone but either they earned their right to be in or they didn’t by being in the ACCCG.

I would think ND is 5 at 11-1.

But there's never been any assurance, as far as I know, that CCG losers are guaranteed a spot. Everybody says that it should be so, but circumstances will make it unlikely on a regular basis. To make that happen, they'd have to go 16 teams minimum.

We lost our starting QB to injury by playing in this game. We easily could have lost our starting QB and also lost the game.
The way these clowns have set up their playoff system is garbage. And now they’re going to end up getting rid of co ference championships altogether because of their own stupidity.
There’s nothing that any kind of “committee” won’t ruin as soon as you give them the chance

The way to save the Conf championships is to keep SMU in it. You have to fight to be in the championship and maintain your record to get in the CFP.
It’s not about who is better but about who earned their spot.

The secret (frequently used by the govt) is to tell your subjects that the "committee" is a group of unbiased experts. That gives them cover to make decisions in the traditional "smoke filled back rooms" with minimal interference.
