George Pickens apologized to his Georgia teammates on Sunday for getting himself ejected at Georgia Tech and subsequently suspended for the first half of the SEC Championship Game.

quote:

“There was a moment yesterday where he apologized for his actions,” Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm said on Monday.

“You can definitely see a step for him growing up and trying to realize that his actions affect more than just him, they effected the entire team.”

quote:

“I feel like he knows what he did is wrong,” Georgia sophomore offensive lineman Cade Mays said. “He knows he’s in the wrong, (and) he can’t let that happen again.”

quote:

“You gotta learn how to control your actions,” Simmons said. “Now that you’ve put that on the field, a lot of people are going to try and provoke you. That’s the last thing you want. You just got to watch what you put on film.”

Cade is as likely to get in fight as any, these things are funny to me as they all could repeat what Pickens did in the right circumstance, or wrong one.

Good to hear. Hopefully that’s the last of that nonsense. No matter what others are doing, he needs to control himself for the good of the team.

frick the Yellow Jackets. I’d be okay if he took that whole team by the face mask & smashed them into the wall.

I’m glad he apologized & look forward to seeing him ball out in the 2nd half. He’s gonna be a DGD in the long run.

Best way for him to make it up to the team and fans is to go off in the second half.

In order for that to happen Fromm is going to have to give him an opportunity to make a play on the ball.

The fight was on 3rd down. Watching some of the replay last night I saw that Swilling was already jawing at Pickens on first down. I'm not sure if anything went on before that. Coach Push Up might have called for it. I looked for a full game vid but couldn't find it, fwiw.

They were at it the whole time Pickens was out there.

Call me crazy but it seems like a planned effort.

That Pickens move reminded me of the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ending. Swilling was brutalized unmercifully. I'm not worried about SECCG ramifications.

Me too. That throwing him into the wall gave me quite a few laughs..
