Chuck Dowdle mentioned this in passing on the radio this morning.

What do I need to do? What's the story?

To my knowledge you don't have to do anything, just show up and they'll basically give you an assigned seat.

maybe not seat, but section I think. Idk, I didn't really look hard into it. I think it was because for 93K day 2 years ago it was a madhouse and there were too many people than there were seats, plus who knows if the west endzone will be open for seating. I guess they figured this would solve some problems but you're right, showing up to a free practice and being told where to sit isn't gonna work IMO.

While I think assigning individual seats is a little over the top, doing sections wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. Especially if we are predicting another 93k.

Yup, sections, trying to get as many in as possible.

So many G-Days with 30-40,000 max. New day...

3 grandkids back from England, taking to 1st G-Day ever...

Wish they would sell them for a $1.00 in advance and give the $90,000.00 to charity.

I think they said you're going to be assigned a section or row depending on what gate you go in. Starting in the 100s,then 200,300s,etc as the lower sections fill up.

That said, they were recommending going in the gate closest to where you want to sit.

I was gonna bring my 4 year old, but with all this talk about assigned sections and low capacity, no way I am subjecting myself to that. Maybe next year.

Don't take him to any real games, they have assigned seating for those as well.

I agree - this year has the feel that was there a couple years back for the 93k day. I went to that and it was an absolute shite show - we ended up bailing and watching the game at one of the bars downtown.

+1 - It's insane what simply charging a nominal fee will do to keep out people who don't really give a shite but just show up because it's free.

Yes, and it would be held on Masters Weekend, and there'd be about 40K people there.

Amazing what happens to attendance when you make it free and not have it opposite one of the best sporting events on the planet.
