But............illegal immigrants are convicted for more than 10% of the crimes commited in this country. For more than 10% of the murders. 20% of the kidnappings. And on and on and on....

Sounds like we should ban anyone from living here. Natives and legal immigrants commit nearly 90% crimes in the US.

The problem with the new waves of immigrants is that they don’t come here to be Americans. They don’t want to assimilate. The Mexicans are just here to make enough money to take home and live off of and they will take all they can get. They have no shame and will exploit whatever weakness they can in the system. I’ve been working around them for about 15 years now I should know how they operate. The Muslim immigrants are here to spread their shitty ideals and religion. Don’t be fooled. These aren’t your Ellis island immigrants looking to be a part of the American dream. Like my great grandmother who came here as a child with her family from Poland in the 1920s. Two of her 3 sons became millionaires, and we don’t claim to be polish as a family , we are Americans.

Example 5 million-and-something (i've lost count) of how embarrassingly weak, useless and oblivous you really are. Wow.

barstools,

The percentages are alarming becuase they are wildly out of proportion with the relatively small population numbers of the group committing the crimes.

You fricking sad sack. Baaaaaaaaa ha ha ha ha. You dumb, bro. Real dumb.

Doesn't everyone involved in this, the police and DA, have something better to do? Geez.

question for any of the legal minds on here - could a challenge be mounted against this based on the new "Right to Try" law?

Probably not. The intent of the new law is to allow for the use/testing of new drugs and medicine on terminally ill patients.

In this case, the kid is neither terminally ill, nor is marijuana a new or experimental drug.

They seemed to leave out or gloss over a lot of facts in this news story to garner sympathy for the parents. CBD oil is not expensive or difficult to obtain here in Georgia.

makes sense, I tend to agree

won't be surprised to see someone try it though

The funniest thing about this is the quote from the father that he tried the "weed" to make sure it was potent.

Outstanding "Father of the Year" candidate. I really wish I could link that quote from the Macon Telegraph. I tried to no avail. Disappeared.

Anyways, Twiggs County is poor as shite, probably a few hundred dollars above Hancock County. They can't afford Obama care. They have to do what they have to do.

You can't get adequate medical care for a serious condition, yet you flout the law.

I guess when you are desperate, get stoned and call a lawyer. Pro Bono.

If this kid was legitimately cured by the "oil", I would be OK with it.

Matthew Brill, the boy's stepfather, told the deputy that he smokes the marijuana first to "make sure it is good" before allowing their son to smoke it, the sheriff said.

Also:

“Georgia law allows for the possession of up to 20 ounces of cannabis oil for people diagnosed with one of a dozen illnesses including epilepsy. More than 3,500 people are registered with the state as medical marijuana patients.” You can also apply for a qualifying minor.

But 3% or less THC so no-go for the pothead Dad.

So...when the facts come out it looks like this kids parents are a bunch of stoners who we’re getting themselves and their kid high under questionable circumstances. Lovely.

Also...can we be honest here? Nobody would give a shite about legalizing pot for medical use if you couldn’t smoke it for recreation. All of this “do it for the children” shite is laughable.

Or people don't wamt the government telling them what they can and can't put into their bodies.

Also it was stopping his seizures so who gives a frick if the dad was smoking it? You're really advocating to frick up the kid's life due to some archaic law?

The law may be archaic, but it's still (for now... and dumb IMO) the law. There are non-illegal, easily available, and equally priced alternatives.

Nobody's advocating fricking up the kid's life except for the kid's parents just because they want to get high instead of getting their kid the safe, legal treatment.

You mean the oils that didn't work, this is clearly a case where common sense needs to be applied taking the kid away is not that.

I read another article on it and it had a video interview with the parents.

These two people are the exact prototype of the kinds of people the virtuous weed-warrior trendies would mock, spit on and call inbred ignorant white trash rednecks under any other circumstance. These types are barely even human to the trendies most times.

But, since this thing is about weed, these two are now lifted up as heroic pious weed warriors sharing the plight and persecution that the trendies have suffered under for so long.

Too funny.
