Athens, Greece

I agree it used to be bad. However, they built an entirely new airport since 1994. It was ready when they hosted the Olympics, back in 2004. The Metro runs from the airport into the center of Athens.

Flying into John Wayne Airport for a week in Newport Beach. How is that airport?

It's pretty good. Traffic getting in and out can be an absolute bitch, depending on what time you're landing/leaving.

You are crazeballs. You can get from A to E in Hartsfield in the time it takes to get from A to B in Dallas. Plus, if Skylink's full, you're fricked. There is no moving sidewalk. Why? Because you can't make a moving sidewalk that goes in a semi circle.

The whole airport is an architectural joke; surely there is a Georgia Tech engineer behind its planning.

There is a new airport in Athens but It isn't spectacular...like a lot of things grecian....

My wife and I found a back pack abandoned in the Athens Airport the last time were there and the security people I told about it walked over to it, looked at it a few minutes, and left. As far as I know the thing is still sitting there....so much for being aware of your surroundings....especially considering the history of such things in Athens and Greece in General....

Was most likely planted there by security themselves. Part of a drill or something. Probably doing tests to see how many people are actually paying attention.

Most of the time, when you hear about things getting past security in airports, it turns out that its the Feds doing tests to see if their nazi brown shirts are doing their jobs.

Of course, the fact that these manufactured events keep the populace frightened and begging for the feds to "protect" us.....is also part of the plan...
