On Sunday nights, O'Malley's had penny pitchers of....well, something that sorta looked like beer, at least. Scary stuff.

Literally my first night of college was a trip to O’Malleys. The cover/penny pitchers about killed me. Brought home a girl the first night who had huge eyes. Spent half my fresh year with bug eye jokes.

I ate arse at Allen’s. One off my girlfriends in college was a bartender there. We would occasionally shut the bar down.

Not sure people really want to know the things that went on after the bars closed downtown. Let’s just say you’d be best off not taking a black light to the pool tables.

There was some sort of frat hi-jinx that had them shitting in urinals. They also would walk through crowded bars and fart while giggling with a covey of their brothers also giggling while watching. Those dudes are our leaders now.

I smacked more than a few dudes pissing in the sink. Rarely did a week go by I didn’t have to scoop some female off the bathroom floor at the end of the night. Had a few I had to to put on my couch because they couldn’t tell me where they lived. Those girls are somebody’s Karen mom now.

I had beers and hamburger steaks at Allen's many times. Allen's was a great place for a few friends to gather. It blows my mind that the Mayflower is still in business fifty years after I last ate there.

I worked at Herbie's for a while. The stuff that went on in the bathroom there - pretty much all of it - means that I no longer fear Hell.

Herbie’s was a special place. Helped break up a few frat boy fights for him. Drunk boys always wanting to fight..I just wanted my greasy 2:00am burger and to hear him put some people in their place.
