The optimists argue that most of us will not get killed. Well, hooray motherfrickers.

Your message would have more bite if you took the partisan angle out.

Sneezed twice today in HD... made sure to make it loud and noticeable... I then proceeded through self check.

When they can eventually add in that tens of millions of people have had this virus

Competent sampling could get this done easily, but our nation’s leaders are proving to be unfamiliar with that concept so far.

Every blood draw is an infection risk and you're asking millions of people without symptoms to pay for a lab and maybe a primary care visit, take their time to do the lab and primary care visit, and get stabbed by a lab tech? It's not happening and leadership has nothing to do with it.

Exactly. The cat is out of the bag now so the strategy is prevention and treatment. And objectively the U.S. is doing pretty well relative to the world as a whole; our death rate from the virus is about 1.63% as of yesterday compared to a worldwide death rate of 4.62%.
I do think statistically valid sampled testing after the crisis is over would be a good idea because I'm fairly confident that a lot more people have been exposed to this thing than is currently being calculated in the denominator. The virus is mainly deadly for the elderly and people in general with pre-existing conditions. So the population as a whole seems to be pretty resistant; very few young people are dying from it. As such I think the realized death rate (assuming a good estimate of how many people have created antibodies to counter infection) will be pretty close to what it is for other viruses.

Pretty the vast majority of tests are swabs.
It's what they're doing in SK with the drive thru testing.

Whether or not it will kill more than h1n1 is irrelevant to the fact containment has failed globally and the current lockdowns are a dog and pony show fueled by fear and ignorance, as well as partisanship where advantageous.
We're approaching the end of a 15 day attempt to flatten the curve and whether it worked or not will never be agreed upon, whether it was ever necessary will never be agreed upon, whether it will/should have been extended weeks or months will never be agreed upon.
Luckily the virus attacks very specific people. It's much easier to selectively quarantine those people than with something like h1n1.
Why can't we end the bullshite and protect the people this kills?

A guy in a New Jersey grocery store was asked by an employee to step back and maintain a safe distance. He coughed and sneezed on the employee and said he was Covid-19 positive. They called police. He was arrested and taken to jail.

The death toll is closing in on H1N1 fast... is Rush still using that as a talking point?
