But im sure this will fall on deaf skyscreamers ears.
Everyone seems to pick and choose which medical experts to agree with based on their point of view. If one guy says something, but 5 other experts disagree with him, why is this guy guaranteed to be right?
Same goes with the other experts.

This is just so stupid beyond belief. You cannot stop this country for an extended amount of time.
The whole world appears to be stopping for an extended amount of time.

there will be no health care system at all to take care of anybody!
The economy is going to be trash until we get this under control. The longer y'all try to put off extensive interventions, the longer this will go. Trump and Co playing this off in FEB has only made this worse, so learn from that. Dont repeat the same mistakes again, thus further delaying the end of the tunnel.

I know you didn't read the article. This isn't just a random medical expert with a different point of view.
It's about the guy who created the doomsday model that everyone, literally everyone, has been citing as their evidence for a doomsday scenario.
That guy, that person who was such an expert that everyone from CNN to the CDC was citing as their source for concern, that guy, and he is calling out his own model as flawed and created a new one that is basically saying this whole thing is gone in a few days.
I dare you to read it.

What exactly do you suggest? We politely decline taking care of patients? We're wearing n95 masks now since there's convincing data that says it can stay airborne for 3 hours but that's not how it was 2 weeks ago.
I am saying you should be scared, being in the thick of the battle without proper PPE. Do you get n95 for rule outs or only for confirmed? Do you only get 1 per shift?

Dude, he’s taking care of Covid-19 patients. Don’t know why you’re acting like this towards him out of all people.
Acting like what towards him? I am not disrespecting him, but I simply think its crazy that he isn't scared after taking care of Covid's without proper PPE. It sure as heck creates anxiety in my mind. This isn't "just the flu" as so many were programmed to believe.

The #'s changed largely because he is accounting for the interventions now being used:
Expected increases in NHS capacity
Ongoing restrictions to people's movements
So if you want to listen to him, prepare to stay at home some more.

Wouldn't you have a little fear in your little rig mind if had to walk into a room full of Covid air particles without proper protection?

I would volunteer to get Covid right now if it meant I could resume life as normal in two weeks.
ETA: plus, I think a huge portion of us have already done what you’re describing.

Per NYT: ranking counties by risk to potentially relax social distancing requirements
This is a great idea..... so Commence skyscreaming DJ

According to Trump, the ranking system will “incorporate robust surveillance testing, which allows us to monitor the spread of the virus throughout the country.” “Under these data-driven criteria,” Trump wrote, “we will suggest guidelines categorizing counties as high-risk, medium-risk, or low-risk.”

You don't think people have been walking around Covid particles? Average Joe's with no protection?

People who are acutely sick due to Covid and actively coughing particles out is a bit different than what you are describing.

You know how someone is acutely sick?
Coughing is a good indicator.

Now it just has to be implemented. Gonna need a lot of tests to pull this off in an effective manner.

quote:Because I'm a wealth manager/stock broker and partner at a brokerage firm where I am partially responsible for 20 employees, and this bullshite has been a fricking headache, and I am sick having to tell my folks that we're likely cutting out bonuses because I'm still paying them right now for virtually no work being done.
Why are you so aggressive?
We are in the business of client acquisition and service, and right now we're not able to meet and acquire any new clients, and all of our existing clients are in an unreasonable panic.
Not to mention we're AUM fee-based, averaging around 1% on around $300M AUM that is now around $225M AUM in less than a goddamn month.
How'd you like to take about a $750,000 cut on $3M gross with about $2.2M in overhead? Much more and I'm going to have to start laying people off.
Meanwhile, I've done about two dozen conference calls with many of the top financial analysts in this business, and every one of them has said this is beyond overblown and sensationalized.
These are people who don't have a stake in blowing smoke up anyone's arse. They are just analysts who get paid to do research and tell business professionals, chief officers of large corporations, and even government officials what the facts are so we can make risk adjustments and reliable financial decisions. And when they're wrong, they don't get hired for their analysis anymore. So their only stake is in being correct.
And every goddamn one of them has said this virus has been in the US since early to mid 2019, and tens of millions of people have already had it and lived through it just fine, and therefore the mortality rate is significantly lower than the media has tried to suggest.
The complications have come from the panic and dishonesty/lack of information being reported about success and cure rates, and the fact that an ultra-vast majority of COVID-19 positives who have died were already going to die with or without contracting this virus.
There is misinformation, exaggeration, and omission of truth everywhere. And the biggest excuse any of them could come up with why is.... agenda politics.
So when we have assclowns like we've got on this site pushing bullshite that their media overlords have fed them, it's a bit more personal for me. I have people I feel responsible for who are very likely going to lose their jobs over this, and I have to tell them their fired, and it's painful as hell to think about.
You don't like me being pissed off and aggressive to dishonest pieces of shite here? Too damn bad. I don't care.
