Check out these #s....

1.25 million true cases according to this guy. Hey djs, show me where he is wrong and if he is right why are worried about a 0.02% death rate again?

The disease in in every part of the US, but not yet in in great numbers. I doubt that as much as 5% of our population is infected right now. Covid-19 has a long incubation period.

Our healthcare system already has been overwhelmed. There isn't enough PPE to go around.

It's gonna get much worse.

I stand by my guess that the dead will exceed 1,000,000 by a year after our first covid-19 death.

That's a great article and I think even he is underestimating the total number out there.

The article makes some good points but, just like covid-19, most flu infections are never counted either. I think that I've had the flu at least 5 times in my 71 years but my illnesses were never included in any statistic. Like most people, I suffered and recovered on my own.

If I had an N95 mask I would give it to my next door neighbor who is treating people at Phoebe Putney hospital. Albany is a hot spot. The number of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital patients who have tested positive for the coronavirus has grown to 83 as the hospital awaits the result of nearly 600 additional tests.

Average 0.0274% death rate baw, just like the flu. So why is DC going Spetsnaz on the economy again?

Because it's not like the flu. South Korea mass tested the population. They were prepared and aggressive. Few positive infections were missed. The fatality rate was 0.6%. I think that is the best we can hope for but as hospitals are overwhelmed our fatality rate will soar.

The number that holds the most significance for me is daily fatalities. That number will grow exponentially over time but, at some point, it will reach a peak and decline. When that happens we will know much more than we know now. Still, the experts expect waves of outbreaks after the peak.

I would love nothing more than to be dead wrong but I'm pessimistic. I yearn for a return to normalcy.

I want a 2020 football season and I want to survive to see it.

I have ties to a number of very large hospital systems. For a week now they’ve cancelled all elective procedures and established extended capacity for the oncoming COVID cases. It’s costing them millions as treating COVID will not replace the fee business they’re losing. The cases aren’t showing up.

We were 10 days behind Italy 8 days ago. At what point do we reevaluate and consider that bankrupting our healthcare system and economy might not be the beat means for dealing with this?

Let’s get to your 100’s of examples of the normal seasonal flu causing that kind of ARDS in a normal heathy young person....

Go ahead and book IF you get the guarantee you can cancel if things have not improved by the travel date. Many that have tried to cancel beach rentals in the last two weeks are not getting refunds. Mayor rental companies and AirBnB are granting refunds but private owners like VRBO are sometimes refusing to refund.

Updated US stats after 200,000+ test

25,611 Currently Infected Patients
25,547 in Mild Condition

64 Serious or Critical

325 deaths to date
176 fully recovered

How is our healthcare overrun with only 64 in serious or critical???? Thought DJS told us that only the serious ones are taking up hospitalization resources, not the freaked out people that are coughing too much and scared shitless because of the media

Still trying to figure out how in the hell we get to 1M deaths

do we think domestic travel and stuff will get back to "normal" by August? That's my anniversary and I'd like to travel somewhere (domestic) and ideally book soon since flights are dirt cheap, but if shite is still fricked I don't wanna take the gamble.

Impossible to predict, but I think that might be the sweet spot between wave #1 and wave #2, but its still more risky than a normal world. Buy insurance on it.

That's because "it's just now starting".

It's also why they don't want more testing (after screaming about it for 3 weeks) because they don't want it to be shown that we're over the hump.

They want to milk this as long as possible. If there's one single drop of milk left in this teet, they want to wring it out.

And even when that last final drop of milk comes out, and the cow drops dead, they'll say there's still a couple drops of milk in there, lets keep yanking on it.

Some may be right now but overall, Its not overrun right now. Thats what hospitals have prepared for, which they wouldn't do for no threat as you seem to think of it.

Most of the deaths right now are from a church and 2 funerals.....no one without preexisting conditions has been confirmed yet
