He was wrong though with some things. Even if he stated what some of the experts told him (Fauci did contradict very kindly some of what Trump had said which is why some members of the right wanted to get rid of him), if he's wrong that doesn't mean it is true.

I suppose i could have added the qualifier of strictly, exclusively or even primarily, given that's what was being implied... but maybe we'll see if we shift to a semantic argument.

I should have specified that everything they quoted him saying were not lies. I mean...he used qualifiers like "some people believe", might...I mean, of the quotes he said he did not lie in one of them.

Now....more to your point...they were saying he was lying. Just because you are wrong about something does not mean you are lying, does it? If you are told something, and you have no reason to doubt it, and you repeat it, but it turns out to not be true, it is not a lie.

A lie is when you knowingly say something as fact, that you know to be untrue.

Here's the thing....all of the doctors, experts and analysts were contradicting each other almost the entire way. It's really understandable, because this is new, uncharted territory. Even now, do we truly know the truth about numbers? They are even contradicting each other on where it came from and how it spread to humans. It wasn't that long ago they were saying it originated in the wet markets of Wuhan, and now it is looking like it was actually spread from a laboratory just outside of Wuhan that was doing research on identifying viruses.

If at some point Trump said it originated in a wet market in Wuhan...is that a lie, or a statement made from the information he had at the time?

ETA
I should qualify this by saying they don't think the Chinese were trying to weaponize it and manufactured it...they think viruses were being tested, and this particular one was transmitted through careless handling to a human, who then went outside and began the spread.

I don't think they were saying there was nothing to worry about at all. Moreso, at the time there wasn't anything to worry about.

"It isn't something the American public needs to worry about or be frightened about, because we have ways of preparing and screening of people coming in [from China]," National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Anthony Fauci told "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y., per The Hill.

NIH Expert Fauci: Coronavirus 'No Worry' for Americans

I am not crazy about the source...but it appears to be a direct quote....

I hope whiz is ok. His last post was a middle of the night post saying he couldn't breathe with his "bronchitis". Whiz, if you are reading, give a thumbs up so we know you're still with us.

I’m anxious to read Lucious Clay’s spin on the 2015 grant to this laboratory. In a weird twist the University of Alabama is listed as a partner is other research at the Wuhan Lab as well.

I think the US and...shoot...another country (England, maybe?) were helping to fund the lab. There are actually two labs in that general area, I think.

Deeprig, I think I'm OK.

Last night I was able to get 8 hours of sleep lying down with my head and upper body elevated. The previous 72 hours I only got 4 hours of sleep.

I've been on doxycycline Hyclate for three days. I still don't feel normal but I've never had a breathing problem as long as I wasn't lying down. For days anytime I would try to lie down I would hear a death rattling sound from my lungs and quickly become oxygen deficient.

Sometime next week I'm going to see if I can get tested. I actually hope that my problem was covid but maybe it was bronchitis. I don't know.

Stay safe everybody.

That’s fair. Obviously the majority of the media portrays Trump to be an idiot with everything he does, which is not true. He’s a very smart person. I may disagree with things he does, but I don’t think the left helps themselves by categorizing every action as a bad one. It makes it very hard to vote for that type of party.

If JD is lurking, can you go to the upside down and tell us who downvoted me for asking about whiznot's wellbeing?
