We're dealing with a virus that can be deadly to the elderly. One that we have no vaccine for and a person can spread two weeks before they show symptoms. So unless you plan to take all the old people and put them somewhere this is what we have to do

Nations are trying to limit the spread in an effort to prevent the collapse of their entire healthcare industry. We don't want to kill off a large portion of our medical professionals. Those people are at great risk.

You anger would be better directed at the Trump administration for firing the entire White House pandemic response team in 2018. Or maybe at the CDC who refused the offer of WHO's covid-19 test resulting in a long delayed response.

And we didn't have a vaccine for H1N1 until 8 months after the 1st diagnoses

H1N1 was also far more dangerous to ALL age groups.[link=(we estimate that approximately 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (8868-18,306) occurred in the United States due to pH1N1. Eighty-seven percent of deaths occurred in those under 65 years of age with children and working adults having risks of hospitalization and death 4 to 7 times and 8 to 12 times greater,)]LINK[/link]

We're also almost 2 months from the 1st diagnoses and we have a confirmed 1,000 plus cases. The CDC estimated almost 1 million cases of H1N1 a little after 2 months from the 1st diagnosis.

Simple question: Were you in this much of a panic back in '09? If not,why not?

Should we have had mass cancellations of huge events? And why wasn't the MSM in complete panic like they are now?

No, because we didn’t see massive health care systems get overwhelmed.

Quit hiding behind politics. Trump is literally the president in charge of leading us through this challenge. The buck stops with him, and he has failed so far.

H1N1 hit 60 million people - yet the media didn't hit the panic button and make it their nightly headline attacking the president. Corona so far in America has over 1100 cases 12 have died and of those 12 - 8 were from the same nursing home. Italy and China have higher death rates reported - possibly because of their health care systems. Our healthcare system is doing just fine amid the media stroked panic and you bullshite arse pussies blaming the president for a frickign virus. That's why you and your media friends are a fricking virus to this country. Keep in mind your numbers are skewed because people who get the S strain of the virus likely show very mild symptoms and never report the fact that they are sick.

This virus - like the flu - is deadly to the sick and elderly but healthy adults should survive it with our healthcare system.

What?

We had 257,000 people hospitalized back in '09 over 10 months but all of a sudden our healthcare "systems" are "overwhelmed" with 1,000+ cases and 28 deaths?

WTF are you taking about?

A government is not going to shut down the northern part of it's country for something small. A bunch of events and games aren't getting delayed or canceled over something small. WHO isn't going to call something small a pandemic. Maybe you just dont understand what's happening here.

What it was declared a global pandemic and a national emergency but it was "something small" It also hospitalized over 258,000 Americans.

Do you have any idea how many more people became infected and died the 1st 2 months of H1N1 compared to Corona? It dwarfs Corona.

Please explain in any way, shape or form that H1N1 is "small?"especially compared to CV?

I don't understand? LMAO!
