Coming out of a huge recession? You wanna increase inflation?
Sorry, nobody wants to pay 4X what their paying now for their 60 inch smart TV or 5 X the costs for a new iPhone or Droid.
We can all say we will but we won't.
I don't trust Mexico at all with mass production. They do fine with auto assembly with strict quality control but that's not really production.
Mylasia,SK, Vietnam etc would be better choices IMO.

inflation is about to go through the roof anyway with the trillions we are printing with NOTHING to back it
we will have to deal with some short term pain to attain long term success
too many Americans have forgotten how to sacrifice and work

GA numbers out for Apr 13
-4 of the last five days have seen day-over-day drops in percentage of positive results.
-3 straight days of positive % below 20%. For perspective, since I started tracking 21 days ago, we've yet to see even two consecutive days below 20%.
-Over the total of 21 days I have tracked, there's an overall positive percentage of 24%. We've now had five straight days below that mean.

Obviously. Did you see what I quoted or do you just like pointing out obvious shite?
No need to be snarky (or worse). I was just pointing out the obvious flaw in the argument (even if not made by you) that pulling production from Chjna doesn't mean it has to be in the US. Mexico, with the new trade agreement, would be a place to look.

Another important milestone was passed yesterday, 0.5% of the Georgia population has been tested and had their results released. One out of every 200 people in the state has been tested.

the corrupt and dishonest American media is trying hard to paint a picture with alternate facts; but some fools are still blaming Trump
crazy, I know...

furthermore, TWO idiot governors actually issued executive orders that put their citizens at grave risk of death, and yes, likely even caused a few unnecessary deaths
in Nevada & Michigan, the governors issued executive orders that forbade docs from prescribing hydroxychloroquine for Chinese Virus patients
why? because Trump said the pills might work
NEWSFLASH -- they pills DO work!
and the corrupt American media and many leftist progressives were actually pulling for more people to die so that Trump could be proven wrong!
idiot leftists talk about Trump policies causing deaths; yet implement policies that actually do cause deaths
kind of pathetic. really

One of my late grandmother's brothers died of coronavirus in the Pruitt Grandview facility. He was 95 years old.

Question for the field:
Now that we've stockpiled PPE and ventilators, and tests, and emergency hospital space has been set up everywhere (even though it's not being used), can we go ahead and get busy working on spreading phase 2? We don't need to flatten the curve at this point. Hospitals won't be overwhelmed.
I understand the school year is shot for kids, but allow the private schools and daycares and summer camps to open back up and let a large segment of our population get back to work. Let some of these small businesses put that SBA money into inventory and wages instead of paying off debt or throwing it into a hole to "stay in business with no business".
Do it today.
Deaths lag infection by 2 weeks or so, they say.
So let's all go get infected for two weeks, and if deaths start to spike again, we can lock back down if needed.
Keep the nursing homes locked down in the meantime.
Something we can't do is simply stay locked down with no exit strategy.
If anyone disagrees with reopening, can you tell me what your exit strategy is?

Yes and no. I mean you are looking at it from the standpoint that had we not shut things down the death rate would have remained the same. There is no way of tellign how many lives may (Or may not) have been saved because of the shutdown.
Those projections all assumed social distancing. They just also either over-estimated the severity and/or infectiousness of the virus itself or underestimated how many people actually have had it(and therefore how far along the US is along the "curve")
The data collection on this has been a disaster.

Most of these projections included best case, worse case, and in between depending on the level of interventions done and other factors.

Trump was the 1st western world leader to even take action;
Conveniently after announcements by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines that they would suspend air service between the United States and China for several months, right? Good job trump!
And then he did a whole lot of wishing the problem away publicly, downplaying the severity of it...for weeks. What’s dangerous waste of time.
And then he waited to cut off European trips in mid March, which led to many of the problems in the northeast. Around that same time, he finally put in a massive order of PPE.

We already know there is nothing that can convince you that the social distancing quarantine yourself at home strategies employed by the states worked at mitigating the spread. I wish that level of ignorance was comical.

Of course people don’t catch infectious disease as quickly when they don’t leave the house. That’s not the real debate.
