They kind of do when they hire someone and pay them a wage.

And what should be free?

Another good reason why these countries have money to pay for social programs.

While I don't agree with us funding other countries' military you seem to be missing the point. Your question about if your pastor is right about socialism and capitalism not be compatible which I gave examples of where it is.

FWIW, our military budget is extremely high and a lot of it should be spent elsewhere

Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac are govt entities and they were buying these loans.

I agree with the rest though and we’d been better of for it.

90% of the American budget is military, social security, medicare, medicaid.

Of the 10% leftover, what little pieces are being squabbled away that would be better spent on something else?

Of that squabbled 10%, I hear there's university grants for medical research, funding for the arts, funding for education, funding for postal service, funding for federal highway funds that supplement states for transportation improvements, etc.

How can this all be socialized and get it all fixed? I'm searching for answers.

Okay..but nowhere near the same level or control. Cmon man. These are govt sponsored enterprises. The others you mentioned are public companies.

That's debatable.

That is the truest statement. They are given a monopoly. Their purpose is directed by the government and monitored by the government. But it operates separate from the government.

I think my problem is that you fail to realize that FNMA is publicly traded. They pick their own board. Their board picks their own CEO.
The government oversight agency often works in the best interest of FNMA and not the "for public show" actions by Congress over FNMA.

Have you ever used a road? If so, you understand socialism.

Germany built roads in the 1930's. Was Hitler a socialist?

I think it's fair to say some specific industries are oligarchies. But not the whole country. That's more than a stretch.

Kinda. Fascist economics is a blend between capitalism and socialism. The third option.

While he despised Marxists and the Bolsheviks, he also hated a liberal, Jewish capitalism.

Roads were built 4000BC.
I'm pretty sure that was about 5800 years before socialism.

Every time a government spends a dime is not evidence of socialism.

It is like having a conversation with a first grader.
