Dawgs roll SCjr 52-20 behind a recond setting performance by the one and only Greyson Lambert, going 24-25 for 330yds and 3 TDs
More importantly, this game forced SOS to quit on his team and retire just a few weeks later.......and they haven't recovered since

I think old Spurrier was stealing signs and we turned it on him by changing all of ours.
Richt in the post game interview kept saying awkwardly that he knew Spurrier wouldnt steal signs, then repeated 2-3 more times.

A tremendous Dawg win over a hated rival (Spurrier, not USCjr) and knowing it contributed to his quitting on the team mid-season made it the best icing ever.

Any gifs of Steve throwing his visor on the ground in anger during that game? That is always priceless to see.

I would respectfully disagree. USCjr only became a rival when Spurrier became HC.

but will disagree with this. SC is never and has never been a "rival" in the traditional sense of the word. We have 3 rivals; tech, UF, auburn. To me a rivalry can't just exist and disappear as the wind blows. In the 80s Clemson very well may have been our fiercest opponent but I don't think anyoen would call them a rival. SC has merely been a blip on the radar for us throughout both schools' existence. Spurrier being there certainly spiced things up a bit but I just don't think you can say "1900s up to 2005: not a rival. 2005-2015: rival. 2016-present: not a rival".

That's an excellent way of putting it, and from where I'm sitting, that's the other side of the coin I'm describing.
The Spurrier years at USCjr were an extension of our rivalry with Florida, IMO, not a function of South Carolina football, which has historically been right there with Vandy in SEC relevance.

1st game I took my daughter to. She was hooked after that!

I loved watching Spurrier interviews the last 2 years. He would completely trash his team. "We can't tackle; can't block, etc, etc." Spurrier gave up on recruiting; he just quit. SC fans still love him though. I don't think he even cared enough to throw his visor the last year.

Was sitting at the bar watching it in my favorite Mexican restaurant downing Dos Equis Amber like it was going out of style. Was a great day. Pretty sure I converted those Mexican guys that day to love the Dawgs.
