Yeah I'm sure that's been played on a loop all week at practice. Along w/Key's shite-talking during the OS

For some reason tech players/fans are trying to make it a rivalry again

I think I was one of the few Georgia fans who didn't like that play.

Our own fans not understanding, nor respecting what this game means is sad.

I understand it very well, and respect the tradition. But the sport is changing and adhering to this tradition may be holding Georgia back. IMO, ending the Tech series would be a net positive for financial, recruiting and scheduling flexibility reasons. I think the fans would adapt, as they have at other places where long-standing rivalries ended.

Not a lot of hype or talk about this game. It’s making me nervous. I hope this team is ready to come in and shut them down on a cold night.

In what way is Georgia "held back" by continuing this rivalry?

Maybe it causes us a hit to our salary cap and is after the trade deadline?

Fewer home games, lower gate revenues, fewer recruiting Saturdays, less schedule flexibility during the season which could be used for strategic separation of key games, less national exposure from playing teams from other parts of the country, another P4 opponent when the playoff committee doesn't seem to be giving much consideration to strength of schedule, fewer cupcake games where backups could get playing time and starters could get a rest, more unhappy backups because they got almost no playing time. It's a game that has very little upside for UGA.

We are playing on National TV tonight pretty much by ourselves

Some non-UGA fans will watch this game as long as there's a chance we can lose. Beyond that, the game will have about as many eyeballs as if we were playing some random G5 team on a Friday night.

Very little upside from playing this game. The only way it gets attention is if Tech wins or threatens to win. UGA has nothing to gain.

Should UGA play a second big name team out of conference and decrease chances for playoffs or play another Umass type game that no one cares about and does nothing for our SOS?
Or play a major conference state rival that we typically can beat?

Hearing that Zach Pyron is starting tonight for Tech. Haynes King is too hurt and they are saving Philo’s redshirt. Philo will be transferring to uga after the season is also what I’m hearing from a close source.

That'd be a coup.

Also hearing that their AD will probably accept the same position with the Gamecocks. Tech is in a world of hurt

That would be a shocker. Batt has been a very good AD over there. Fundraised like a MF'er

Saw this on another board: GT is starting a 1st game player tonight at QB according to reports. Their backup in this game is their RB1.
