It’s very disheartening to lose after being up almost the whole game. It’s very “Georgia”.

Luke Jackson had a terrible outing.

I disagree here. I know Jackson's job is to keep the lead, and he didn't. No debate there. But he pitched ahead, got them to swing at his pitch, and got very unlucky. Will Smith golfed a low/ outside slider cutting away from him- somehow got enough juice on it to get a hit. Taylor was behind 1-2 and chased a slider off the plate- weak grounder that shoulda been a 6-4-3 but found a hole. Bellinger also behind 1-2 chased a high fast ball- it was 6-7 inches out of strike zone. Somehow he hammered it.

If you showed his pitch sequence to any MLB pitcher- without showing results- they'd take it. Just wasn't meant to be. Luke got very, very unlucky. I have a sinking feeling that was a series altering turn of events.

The good news, we're still up 2-1.

But last night was a massive punch to the gut, and it feels like it could be the turning point. I've seen this too story many times from the Braves.

I've already started mentally preparing for what we've seen over and over from the Atlanta Braves in the playoff.

Big momentum shift for sure. It sucks. Definitely a story we’ve seen over and over again. The way I see it though, every bad run of luck eventually comes to an end. The fact that we rightfully complain about the failures / shortcomings of Georgia sports teams and yet continue to follow them anyway, means we all think we’ve got a chance… however small.

As mentioned before, this team battles. They don’t quit, and whether or not they win this series I expect them to fight every inning. Just happy to see these guys back in the NLCS.

Things could be worse (Looking at you, Baltimore).

Feels like a punch to the gut, but we lost Game 3 last year as well. The only benefit to last year was we got the doors blown off us, so we were able to recalibrate and not waste our pen trying to salvage the game.

Just need everyone to keep their head down and know they had them on the ropes. Beli just got the better of Jackson last night. Don't let them beat us 2 nights in a row from one night's work. The Dodgers have been burning through their bullpen, too, so no telling where this thing will end up if it drags out to 7.

Did you really expect this team to be up 2-1 in the NLCS to the Dodgers back in June?

I guess you could say last year was close to the same story but how many years in a row did they fail to make it out of the 1st rd or even the wild card game?

Let's not turn into surrender monkeys just yet. This team has plenty of fight in em.

It's easy to forget that we're down our Ace pitcher (who started last years All Star Game btw) and the best overall player in baseball....

Future is bright

4-21 in the last 25 games in Dodger Stadium is a very bad sign going forward.

We gotta win 1 there imo. Forcing a 2 game sweep will prove to much vs. the Dodgers imo.

All we need is 5-21 to make me feel good about our shot in the series

Yeah, it wasn’t a matter of missing his spot. He put that pitch right where he wanted it - and credit Bellinger because that’s stupid difficult to get on top of a pitch that high (had a flashback of Evan Gattis… he was so good at that).

I just didn’t like the pitch sequence. The 97 mph fastball that Bellinger missed was a little high (think that was still in the zone), but at that point he’s seen it that at-bat and zoned in for it. Going higher and out of the strike zone seems like good strategy but he just saw gas and then gets gas right after. I thought something off speed / breaking would have been a better call to a hitter that good, and maybe come back with the high heat later. But they made the call they wanted… sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Gotta tip my cap to Bellinger. He’s a beast and he didn’t miss his chance.

Braves take game 4! 3-1 series lead. That’s where we were last year, but I’m feeling a series win now. After the Dodgers grabbed all the momentum in game 3, this is a huge statement for Atlanta to come back in game 4 and crush LA.

And I can’t believe this happened during our bullpen game. The offense really showed up.

Drew Smyly was great. He set the tone for the pitching and burned through some important innings.

Rosario, sheesh… what a night. Game MVP for sure.

Go Braves!

One of the more enjoyable games to watch for the Braves. Smyly had me worried a couple of times as Dodgers were making a lot of contact on pitches but fought through some innings.

Rosario... would have been nice to hit for the Cycle, but a second homer on a 4 hit night is a nice consolation prize.

Hell.. with the Dodgers going with their bullpen tomorrow and Fried up, I'm actually excited to see how the final game in LA goes.

What a win. I was not expecting that.

Dodgers pitching is in shambles right now. The Braves have a great shot to finish it tonight.

The fact that the Braves held LA hitless through the 5th inning was unexpected. Smyly was putting them down quickly until his last inning-could tell his command was starting to slip (think he was over 50 pitches by then). He did a great job keeping their bats quiet while we grabbed the early lead / momentum.

A part of me was hoping that last hit by Rosario would bounce off the wall so he’d get the double for the cycle. But I’ll gladly take the 3-run homer instead. The man is now hitting .588 in the NLCS.

Having Fried on the mound for game 5 is the perfect situation for Atlanta. Especially while they field their bullpen. LA is cornered and may show their best stuff, but I like our chances. In some ways I wouldn’t be too bothered if the Dodgers force a game 6, because the only thing I’d like more is going to the Fall Classic in front of our home crowd. But I definitely won’t complain if we end this tonight!

Honestly I hope Atlanta can put them away tonight in LA.
If they lose tonight with Fried, there will be haunted feelings from last season going back to Atlanta.

Looking like LA will live on for game 6 (up 7-2 in the 7th atm). It’s a funny game sometimes. Both teams starting their bullpens have kept the opposing teams’ bats quiet.

Fried did not look comfortable out there tonight. It’s usually not a good sign when he can’t locate his curve. Having to throw the extra fastballs to find the strike zone was not leaving the Dodger hitters guessing much. They were squaring up just about everything.

LA came out swinging because they knew they had to. It’s already hard enough to beat them in their house even if playoff elimination isn’t involved.

If this one ends with a Dodger W, at least we’ll be back to Atlanta where the team can feed off the crowd again for game 6. I’m happy we got one win in LA because that’s not a place we play well in recent years.

Seems quite possible. They weren’t getting fooled by anything.
