Who cares, we demolish CU anyways.

Sanford is going to be rocking. I predict 2 turn overs by CU in first half.

Tells me Clemson is trying to drum up interest in the program ahead of ACC Media days next week, when everyone will be focused on Jameis, Jimbo, Petrino, Grantham, and the ongoing UNC scandal. Trying to make it sound like their program has something interesting going on.

Clemson's best team in 20 years beat us in Death Valley by 3...with a white walk-on safety starting for us, Gurley banged up, Mitchell going down after 4 offensive plays, and us botching a gimme field goal on the snap. I can't make myself worry about this game given the talent they lost and the guys they have suspended.

I hope Watson plays. The playbook will be limited when he's in the game. I don't think they'll enjoy their trip to Athens this year.

Dabo is a dumbass, but even he's not mental enough to start a true FR on the road against n SEC foe. The Stoudy guy will at least have a much better understanding of their offense having been there several years. However, if Stoudt throws a couple picks and isn't doing well, they might just say "frick it" and throw Watson in whenever. I doubt Watson starts, but I wouldn't be surprised for them to try to show off their new toy at some point in that game.

If they put in watson we should put in park.

Best qb from ga vs best qb from sc, on opposite sides of the field.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. He isn't starting but still, just playing him is risky.

I hope they do. Please let them sacrifice him to Pruitt and let us show off our new toy, too. True freshman in front of 92k playing against his home state team barely 30 miles from where he grew up in his very first college game ever?

Lord, have mercy.

Not saying it's going to happen, but I could see Clemson handing it to is to start the season.

They return a lot of D and have an established offensive system in place. We THOUGHT we were going to return a lot on D and we should have a well oiled offense ready to go, but if Mason isn't sharp and puts our new D in bad situations, I could see things turning sour.

I'm not sleeping on Clemson.

No I'm not as confident as some of the other posters in here. I still think we win a close game but their defense will be very good and they have a lot to play for beating us two years in a row

Clemson is going to be very tough. Their strength (an outstanding pass rushing DL) plays into our weakness (defending the pass rush and a rather immobile QB).

If Hutson stays patient, is willing to take a sack when he has to and commits no stupid turnovers, we should win this game. Especially since we should have a killer pass rush against an inexperienced Clemson QB (whoever it is).

If Hutson tries too hard and forces things, we could be in for a long night. Hopefully the senior will play smart.

You guys gotta understand, your offense is going to be a lot better than their's in this game. Y'all have many more valuable offensive weapons returning, they are rebuilding that whole offense. Their defense might be better than last year, but y'all are playing at home, which is a huge defensive advantage. Plus, frick clemson.

Yea their Dline scares me tho but hey I worry all the damn time. Anyways football is almost here and I wanna see how our defense looks in practice. Pruitt probably won't give them any compliments in the media

I'm probably underselling them some, but their D was worked by our offense, FSU's offense, OSU's offense, Tech's offense, etc. I think they'll have a good pass rush, but one that we should be able to neutralize playing at home as opposed to on the road.

My primary rationale is this:

Weren't the two players suspended on D projected starters at CB and DE? And the two players suspended on O projected starters on the OL?

If that is indeed the case, then for the purposes of our game they have to replace:

Offense - 4 of the top 6 OL from last year, QB (also their 2nd leading rusher), top 2 WRs, and their RB.

Defense - DE, 2 LBs, 3 CBs

Special Teams - KR and K

That's a lot, I'm envisioning some ugly drives by that offense. I just don't see how they win on the road in the opener when they have to replace that.*

*Caveat: If those 4 "earn" their way back onto the field as has been rumored, that will clearly change how I feel - and I will laugh at Dabo's integrity.
