Is his name Coley? No?

He's a good hire.

OSU was the #2 offense in 2011 at 48.7 points per game, averaged 5.39 yards per carry rushing and 8.5 yards per pass attempt and was No. 2 in the nation in yards per game at just over 387.

In 2012, they were #5 in the nation in passing yards per game at just under 337, #3 in scoring offense at 45.7 points per game and 11th in yards per carry at 5.39..

Of course it is the Big12 where defense is optional, but I'd rather someone who lights it up in the Big12 than someone who doesn't.

To piggyback on that. He was with browns as OC this year, but Kitchens had all offensive play calling duties, prior to that he was OC at Tampa Bay in ‘18, where they had the no. 1 pass offense in the NFL.

Southern Miss was 0-12 in 2012 and averaged 19.7 ppg., which was the 112th ranked offense out of 124.

Monken took over in 2013.

By 2015, Monken had Southern Miss go 9-5 and averaging 39.9 ppg, which was ranked 13th in the nation.

This got him hired as the Tampa Bay Bucs OC and WR's coach.

He runs an Air Coryell true spread offense, using the pass to open the run. Which is a stark difference from what UGA has been doing for ages.

This is an awesome move by Kirby.

This is so money to be happening right before having Vandagriff here this weekend for a recruiting visit.

I won't be surprised now if Vandagriff commits this weekend.

I almost get the feeling he wants to get it done. I mean, he was hard to OU early and wanted it out of the way, or so it seemed.

I’m a graduate from Southern Miss and watched him take over a horrendous team at the time and make them pretty competitive. He’s a very good hire and will move our offense in the right direction

Did you happen to see this comment on the video? Possible that Murf knew well before anyone....

This is a huge step in the right direction and shows Kirby isn't too stubborn to change.

We owe LSU a big "thank you," quite honestly. If they hadn't done what they did this year, this may have taken another season or so to happen and it might not have been someone like Monken, either.

I think what I love so much about this is how deliberate the changes are if you just follow the timeline of what has happened since Atlanta

- Pitt leaves
- Luke comes in and prefers a more lean and athletic line
- Fountain leaves creating a space. Hartley or Coley likely going to take on ST duties
- Fromm leaves
- Newman comes in as QB and brings a big arm and running ability
- McKitty comes in as a guy who can play both WR and TE, so he can stay on the field and not give away a play by subbing in and out
- Monken comes on bringing a spread concept that uses the run to set up explosive pass plays

All of this seems like a very deliberate move toward reinventing the offense to be more explosive and less predictable: exactly what LSU became

Yep, wasn't sure if that is Todd's son, but he does have a son named Travis, and that particular user was created in 2016 and has a lot of subscriptions to sports channels, including some Tampa Bay Bucs ones, so it may be the real deal.

I legit cannot work right now. Just flipping from page to page to video to article on the Monken hire. I'm gonna go to lunch and just chill. Come back, chill. I'm useless today....
