So, this is the best UGA can come up with???

I was a little taken aback at first, but after thinking about it, I like the hire.
4 tourneys in 6 years(and would of been 5 out of 6 had it not been for COVID) w/an Elite 8 appearance in there. He does that here they'll give him a lifetime contract
White had one down year, this year, and turd fans were already getting restless. Unrealistic exepctations much?
Now I wouldn't be opposed at all to bringing Jonas aboard as AHC to serve under him and help w/the local HS talent and AAH circuit.

Objectively, it’s a really good hire for a program of our caliber. If he is able to get us consistently to the round of 32 (like he did at Florida), it’ll spell a golden era for Georgia basketball historically speaking.
What makes it seem less than it is is 1.) we just did Florida a favor and 2.) he underperformed for Florida expectations. When you remember that we aren’t Florida in basketball, reality shows this to be a pretty good move (just not the coup we wish it was).
Plus, if we convince Jonas to come back as Associate HC then we are cooking with grease

So we took sloppy seconds from the Gators.

To use your analogy, we’ve spent most of our history jerking off while listening from the other side of the wall so…

You think his response is bad, go over to the Rant. The tards are out in full force tonight

The rant is/was going to shite all over whoever we hired. We aren’t in the league of teams that get respect in basketball so 1. They don’t bother putting this hire into context for our program and 2. Going from UF to UGA makes it especially stinky bait. They pull the same schtick with us in baseball, pretending we havent been relevant since 1990 (despite 4 CWS appearances since then including a runner up finish in 2008). Using that group of mongoloids as a base reading for anything is poor practice

Apt description for that fanbase.

Yea I couldn’t quite understand the dissension from our fan base on the hire. I mean we haven’t won an NCAA tournament game since Harrick was here 20 years ago…this guy appears to be a winner and more importantly knows the SEC since he also played in the league on top of coaching in it. Surround him with a decent staff and let’s see what happens.

Brooks really fricked this one up.

Hearing substantial buzz around Jonas Hayes returning to Athens as the lead assistant on White’s staff I reported Thursday that sources said UGA was hoping to get Hayes back to Athens even if he wasn’t offered the HC job. White pursued Hayes at Florida back in 2018

Meh.
He was handed the keys to a Rolls and while he didn't drive it into a ditch he didnt manage stay in his lane.
He does get bonus points for his tourney record though.

I read something that said White was going to be fired Mon or Tues. Is that real?

Everyone else would have been post NCAA and with TP, we may not have had a team bext year.
Makes since bringing someone in now. If he accomplishes half of what he did at uf, we will have come a long way.
Pkus he can recuit Florida like a fiend.
Its a good B hire.

Yep, but it makes sense in a way: Florida can likely do better and almost anyone would be an upgrade over Crean.
At least we got an active coach who has taken Florida to the tourney several times which is more than we can say for Crean.
