Cager laid out on an earlier play and almost brought it in.

I fault Jake for not putting more air under it but still not a bad pass.

what effort looks like

The refs were bad both ways. Don’t think they were worse in our direction at all.

I agree but you don't call back a TD over a ticky tacky call when they let far worse holding go all day.

I know that and I love Jake Fromm for what he has done and what he means for UGA, for the team, and for the other players. I just pointed out a limitation in his game. He has more than enough strengths to make this acceptable.

And he overthrew cager on that play as well. That is why we settled for another fg before half.

Based on the criticism of Landers, he should have caught that ball.

enough hand on it to cause the ball to stop

That’s the thin line I spoke of. 3 of his fingers, with left arm fully extended, touched the ball.

Point being, Cager gave all he had to get to the ball, damn near caught it.

Landers did not show effort to make the play and has a history of it. He did not give Max effort and got four fingers on it, I don't think he sees the ball well. His pass would have been caught by Cager, cagers pass would have not gotten within a yard of Landers.

I hope Landers turns it around.

He appeared to run as hard as he could and fully extended his arm, so it’s hyperbole to claim he “did not show effort”.

Far from a guarantee anyone catches that with a dive. Much closer to a guarantee If the ball is more accurate.

You must be blind. A decent receiver catches that.

There is a reason you aren’t showing the better view of that play, and it’s not because I am blind. I will post it later.

He lays out, he catches it. His index finger was at the stripe.

Catchable with effort

Running full speed and arm fully extended, and still only got 3 of his 10 fingers on the ball.

I see harder catches made every weekend on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays...

Perhaps you do, but they are on sports center top 10.

I bet you also see better throws every day of the weekend, but I don’t see you calling Fromm out. Got to hit your wr in stride when he is open downfield like that.

It's always the qbs job to throw Catchable passes but NFL guys miss all the time as well, but if you can touch it, you can catch it.

I don't think he closed on it well at all, and was not at full speed.

I could deal with the drop if he gave cagers effort.

I assume we can agree that it’s a td if the pass is not overthrown by a foot. We can also say that about 2-3 other passes that Fromm missed in the game.

Certainly but the ball travelled about 35 yards at an angle and dialing it in without hanging it up, is why certain WRs go to the NFL while others do not.

We can also agree that landers technique that he did not play the ball well at all as his angle to the ball was also off about a foot. High level players make high level plays.

Fromm does not throw many ints, there is a reason he doesn't
As he puts the ball generally out of the reach of the d.

Don't know why yall go b and f with this DJ dude. He's been a dick since the Scout days.

Why hasn't Blount been given some snaps. I understand Tongue is headed for the rs.

Landers is still a bball player trying to play football. He's the rawest of the raw.

It’s impossible for some of you to admit that Fromm isn’t perfect and never misses an open wr downfield
I take exception to this statement. I make an effort to call out Fromm when I believe he missed the mark. I do it real-time in the game threads. I do this even though I'm very grateful that he's our QB and appreciate the work he puts in and the aptitude he has to get us in the right plays on the field.

The problem that I have with people like you is that you obviously have a chip on your shoulder about Fromm. You are quick to highlight his flaws and dismiss or ignore his positives. You would rather blame Fromm for not making a perfect throw from 30-40 yards down field than to think that a receiver should do more than run his route and be hit in the numbers. You are ungracious.
