Sad news. I’ve seen it completely change someone’s quality of life. Hope he does well with treatment

“I have been waddling around lately and people have asked what’s wrong. I’ve decided to tell everyone at the same time. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s,” Richt said. “Truthfully I look at it as a momentary light affliction compared to the future glory in heaven. Thank you Jesus for promising us a future blessing of a glorified body that has no sin and no disease. In the meantime I am going to enjoy the blessings that I do have. See you on the ACC Network!”

This is just awful news. Richt is a wonderful human being who would do nothing but help others in his retirement.
Prayers sent.

Prayers for Coach Richt. He is the prototype for what a Christian should be.
Kick Parkinson's arse, coach.

I watched my grandmother's 2nd husband waste away with it. At the end his mind was fine he was just trapped in his own body it was hard to watch.

Went on his Twitter and had to stop reading all the well-wishes, I literally started tearing up. Doing it now typing this.
I love that man to death.

My Dad, a lifelong UGA fan, lost interest in the Dawgs after we fired Richt. Dad just thought he was as good as they come, and he was right. I really hate to hear this news.

Dang. I don’t want to see anybody deal with that, but certainly not a guy like Richt.

Very sad to hear this.
My stepmother died roughly 4 years after being diagnosed with Parkinson's. After 3 years she was unable to do anything for herself.
Heartfelt prayers for Coach Richt and his family.
God Bless

Very sorry to hear that but he is right in his statement. The Lord afflicts us in this life to remind us of the glory of the life to come that we should not view this life as home.
He’s a blessed man and seems to have used his blessings for good. I pray the Lord heals him or makes him suffer well for Christ’s kingdom before taking him home.

My grandfather died from Parkinson's back before there was nay kind of treatment for it. It was a terrible, terrible disease.
Today, however, with medication a person can live a somewhat normal life. It is not the death sentence it was years ago.
