Go back and watch AS when Stet and Stockton threw to him and compare those with Beck and tell us the difference.
The difference is when stet was throwing to him he was like the 4th or 5th option.
In the only game gunner has started and was throwing to arian he had *looks at stats*...one catch.

This is a coaching issue with the WR's and Bobo is head of the Offense, then who gets the blame for not fixing it within 15 games + offseason workouts + fall camp?
I see a lot of "not their fault", I know being a homer is all well and good, but accountability should be part of your critique as well.
For the objective observer, there is a lot of coaching fault in your write up.

Becks odd release and timing made his passes tough to catch. Stetson always put touch on the ball and while he may not have hit them Instride, the ball was caught for enormous gains not 5 yards over thrown.

Lol no. That's not the difference in number/percentage of drops. Had it not been for Bowers/Ladd insane catches, his numbers would have been worse that year. Nice try, though.

kirby? I mean kirby is over the whole shebang right?

I admitted that bobo and beck both contributed to our issues. I've never hinted otherwise. I have been openly vocal throughout the season about some of my frustrations with playcalling, and obviously beck was shite for much of the season. What I do take umbrage with is saying that those 2 are the main culprits of why our offense stunk. I disagree with that.

Our OL coaching sucks. With WR...at this level of the game catching a ball that hits your hands is mental. These guys know how to ctach. We've seen plenty of seasons under richt where guys couldn't catch a cold. We've seen other seasons, wiht literally the same coahces, where we never dropped a thing. It's football, it happens.

why didn't we have the same issue in 2023 then?

having brock/ladd/MRJ/pickens probably helped too

Was my first visit to Oxford. I'm sure it's a nice place normally, but with the hordes of people in town, most of whom just go to the Grove, it was chaos, especially with the rain. The Grove reminds me of how the Japanese would do it if they tailgated. Miserable day all around.

This was a QUALITY issue with the WRs….not coaching. At that level you shouldn’t have to coach a receiver at how to catch. Maybe timing between QB and WRs due to not enough reps could be coaching but when it hits you in the damn hands…that’s on the WR not being good enough.
Blame recruiting maybe?
ETA: I haven’t been paying much attention but just looked at our 2025 receiving core and we are going to have some natural WRs that are proven this year. Let’s see if this changes things.

Of course this falls on Kirby too, how can it not?

Those were the two main parts of the woeful offense and deserve the most blame. Just look at the INTs from Beck, forget about drops.

So, Dylan Dell suddenly forgot how to catch the ball and Lovette forgot how to catch? And Arian forgot how to catch?
All of these guys had 2 to 4 years of playing at the highest level already and they accounted for the majority of the drops. So, if its not coaching and QB, I do not know what is.
And if its not coaching, then why would you have those guys playing and not give the other guys a chance? Instead, they rode with the WR's that couldn't catch a cold, your guys phrase.

We thoroughly dominated on both sides the entire gmae. One of the more signature wins in UGA football history, if we're being honest. Now things are lookin back up again
Watched the first half the other day.
One of Kirby's best games along with Bobo.Could've easily been up 30-0 at half if not for Beck's screwups.
UT was thoroughly confused on both sides of the ball.
Their OL was completely overmatched.
In no way did this team resemble a CMR coached team.

I think Beck got used to those guys and didn't work hard enough to get on the same page as the guys that were left

Was watching some older games yestrday and had another thought. Here is a list of some of our third (3rd) string RBs over the last 10 seasons:
Sony Michel, Deandre Swift, elijah holifield, brian herrien, kenny mcintosh, james cook, zamir white, kendall milton, aijuan edwards
I mean, damn. That's a list of all SEC caliber guys, some which are AA caliber guys that have gone on to excel in the NFL. Our 3rd string RB last year was a white walkon in cash jones. Granted there were injuries galore at the position which is nobody's fault. I'm simply illustrating, along with previous discussions about WR and TE, that is is an indisputable fact that we simply were not nearly as talented last year as we've been in many of the preceding years. If you can't see that and ONLY want to blame bobo/beck then you very clearly have a personal agenda and can't be reasoned with using logic or common sense.

HS football doesn't run the ball like they used to. I don't believe the backs are developed like they once were.

I’ll get hate for this but I’ll call out the obvious. 2024 was a good example of what happens when you have mediocre position coaches. Beck regressed, made terrible reads that lead to interceptions(coaching). The wide receivers struggled all year(first year under coley). Run game struggled(lost Dell McGee). And multiple games the o line looked absolutely lost. Couldn’t score any points in the first half of most games, WR couldn’t catch a cold. And if you don’t want to blame the coaching and put it on players, who is responsible for developing the players?!? The coaches….

How many terrible rads did Beck make?

At most maybe play design…or Becks ball\timing. Who knows? We’ve seen before where guys with strong arms (Eason) try to out throw coverage.
But I think it’s lazy thinking to go straight to coaching for WRs that were otherwise productive dropping catchable passes.

Early in the Alabama game, first game against Texas. He threw 3 picks against 3 different teams. Let me guess it was all of those were the recievers fault? You can’t blame a 2:1 td to int ratio all on the receivers

Post the link to those plays. I’d be glad to break them down for you. We can discuss and it would be a good learning experience for you.
