If he's as good as some think then he's not gonna be a Dawg for 4 years anyway. Put him out there and let him get some experience then play him for the next 2 years...or 3 if we're lucky.

Beck is a stopgap at best until the BVG show, imho.

Part of me just wants Kirby to name BVG the starter as soon as he gets here, even if he’s not the best QB at the time.

I know it’s probably not the right decision but I miss having 3-4 year starting QBs and I don’t want us to lose Brock like we did Fields.

If Bennett plays the season there is zero chance we have anything other than an open QB competition next season.

In that scenario UGA has a solid starter next season no matter what, and Brock either loses a fair fight or wins the job. In both scenarios he doesn't leave before the end of year 2.

Highly doubt our coaches promise kids a starting job, but every coach promises a kid a real chance to win the job. If a competitive kid like Brock feels he got a fair shot, I'm sure he'll take a loss as a challenge to get better.

When I beat off, I like to finish on my own chest then take a shower.

It is more fulfilling than simply wasting it on an inanimate object.

Kinda feel like we said the same about Fields

Offenses at this level aren't plug and play, who are you willing to lose to to try beck out...

And that's the beginning and end of my problem with the whole thing. Whatever our opinion we know he didn't think he got that shot, and he has a real argument. Every single blue chip kid who feels the same way will be gone.

But this is about next year. I really think it sorts itself out barring injury, and almost any outcome sets Georgia up for the next few years.

Daniels Wins - Brock Beck, and Mathis sit a year and whoever wis in 22' means we have an excellent QB moving forward.

Any of the others winning means the rest likely transfer, but we have a great QB for at least 2 years - maybe 3.

I think Stetson will only win if he proves he's a championship caliber kid this season. In that case we probably made the Playoffs this year, and I'm still happy. Following that its the Daniels scenario above.

There’s no QB now nor the future that will mean anything of a championship unless Kirby “lets go” and let’s the OC and QB be them. He’s still stuck on grunt punt (rightfully so being a defensive mind) that he cannot see the progression in the college game. Sorry.

He can't? So what was with the offense vs Bama in the 2nd half?
We continually passed on first down and took shots down field.
Hell,we passed 5 times on first down in the 3rd qtr alone.

Pretty much the opposite of "grunt and punt"

If Monken flies the coop I'll believe you.

Question: Do you suspect Monken wants a different QB right now?

That’s the problem with it all. For eligibility purposes, Daniels will still be a RsSophomore next year. I’m worried he could win the job in ‘21 he could be like Fromm, where he is kind of an average QB, but Georgia is still winning.

I’m worried that if Daniels wins the job in ‘21, and we win 10 or more games that year, Brock might look at how the Fromm/Fields situation went down and make a run for it in ‘22 if JTD comes back.

I know it’s probably not the right idea, but I have post-Fields trauma. Which is why part of me just wants Kirby to name BVG the starter his first year to make sure we don’t lose him.

I doubt Daniels stays after next year, he will have enough tape to bolt for the NFL. Gives Brock time to develop and adjust to the college game. It will all work itself out honestly.

Of course he "wants" a different QB. He wants a QB who never misses a throw even if blindfolded, can effortlessly lob perfect ball from endzone to endzone, can run it himself for 100 yards a carry while dragging all 11 defenders, etc. Every OC wants an unstoppable god. The question is always what can they do with what they actually have.
