I don't expect you to accept it, but here's the salient point you're missing. The US dollar is already dead money walking. It's a note against the US Treasury and the US Federal Reserve, and both are effectively bankrupt. Barring some massive advance in energy technology, they can't honor their paper in real terms. All they can do is dilute it into oblivion at an exponentially increasing rate. We're on the steep part of that curve.

Insofar as the goal of bringing down the Revolutionary Government goes, yes. That seems the best outcome for the Iranian people, the US, and the Middle East in general.
