Dallas, did you sod your yard or use a type of seed regiment? Looking at doing something similar to ours as we start to clear about a half acre of brush and scrub trees

That's just tall fescue seed. Combo of Pennington shade mix plus an annual rye mix. Rye is starting to die off so not as pretty as it was in pic taken 1st of May. The rye comes up fast in cool weather and helps hold the fescue while it germinates and reduces erosion during rainy weather. Will take overseeding again this fall to get fescue fully established.

re: Lawn and Garden 2020
Spent the last 5 days renovating a koi pond and waterfall. For the first time in many years I am not living on the road. Man, I have wanted to fill that damn thing with dirt so many times. Hopefully have it back up and running...sans fish..in a few days. Will send some pics.

Lots of pond experience if anybody has questions.

Gnomes don’t do shite for your garden, although I like it.

Grass should be cut at the highest 3/4 of your mowers setting.

St Augustine grass is best, although I live on the coast.

re: Lawn and Garden 2020
Good stuff. My tomatoes that have been green for over a month are just starting to turn red, picked the first three yesterday.

My lawn is just now starting to get thick, the fertilizer I put down last month didn't do too well because we got 9 inches of rain in the following days. I'm thinking about hitting it again this weekend.

Also... strawberries went crazy over the weekend. We've been picking 2 or 3 a day. But over the weekend we've picked about a pound. It's a 3rd year plant.

Bad year for snakes and insects this year, unfortunately. frick a mild winter.

Toss moth balls around the house foundation, then work out about 15 feet. Snakes will go next door.
