Kirby was feeling it after that onside kid

Been at least a few years since Coach has been that jacked up after a play.
Proved tonight why he's number 1 in all of the off-season college football writer nerds coaches rankings.
The first time we were reeling all night, Kirby senses the change in momentum and goes for it twice on fourth down. 4th and 1 was exquisitte and then we draw them off sides on 4th and 5. Touchdown. Onside kick. Touchdown. Game over.
We are all very very lucky that Kirby's with us.
These are the glory days.

After Tx scored on their kickoff I noticed we only had 5 guys on the line and told my wife…I hope they don’t onsides kick it. Then we turned around and did it to them.
They way our D was getting after them sark probably don’t want the ball again.

Honest question and not a criticism. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. We got a team indeed and they are fun AF to watch. I just hadn't seen anyone mention this anywhere else this AM.
Everyone I was watching with was wondering why did Cash go down after recovering the onside? It seemed like he could have run for another 20 yards. Again not complaining...just curious what ya'll think.
1) It seemed like he was just in shock that they pulled it off and he just went down because he couldn't believe it.
Or
2) My first thought was that he was instructed to go down so we could burn more clock (see Kirby yelling at Gunner for the TD against Auburn and the subsequent kneeling against Florida).
Curious what everyone thinks.

Onside kick recoveries can't be advanced.

Correct.
Unless R touches it after it goes 10 yards and then K can advance it if they recover

The stadium went bananas when Cash got the ball. Loved the call.

If you noticed, the ball was placed where he first touched it and not where he went down.

Funny to think back to the days when there were more than a few "Oh, God, anyone but Kirby to replace Richt" folks - and more who wanted him gone after the first meh season.
I mean, I get thinking he might not be the best choice, as he was untested as a head coach; that's perfectly reasonable. But it's not like he was a hack as a DC; he clearly knew at least a little something.
