Any updates are here-say on Cochran? I feel like we should be hearing something soon if he's coming..

He won't be coming until at least mid-January. It would be kept quiet until then.

Kirby was asked that yesterday and he said he wasn't sure if Scott was coming or not.

I should have prefaced by saying if he was coming. I don't know if he is or not

Pruitt may be a hot head and if that ^^^ mess is true then let him go. We don't need the atmosphere to be toxic in BM.

If you take a step back and look at the situation thus far (rumor wise),

- We are trading Pruitt for Smart which are both secondary coaches and great recruiters. So that's an even wash.
- He wants Rocker and Sherrer to stay put. Great call if true. They are proven winners.
- He's bringing in Shuman (Spelling?) and Cochran and possibly Billy Napier.

I see this as a win, win, win, win, win, WIN! But all the speculation sucks and January can't get here fast enough.

I just wonder how much of this Pruitt stuff is true. The only thing I had heard is he and Schitty got into a physical altercation.

Pruitt will wind up where all our "troublemakers" go - Auburn.

His interactions with Gus will be legendary.

If Gus had a fricking clue he'd throw everythign Auburn has to offer at Pruitt. For the two years he has been here, Pruitt has completely stonewalled Gus's offense.

It's not over yet. Pruitt is just going to put UGA in a spot to pay him even more to be the HC... I wouldn't want to be in his way right now... Accidents can happen.

I would love that news but it seems like they took liberties with Kirby's quote at the presser about how he had no limitations on choosing his staff.

He may have the green light, but I'm not sure he's all for the Pruitt hire.

This is a quote from the article:

quote:

There will be consideration there, obviously. But I do think it’s very important that I hire my staff and put my staff in place.”

I may be reading too much into it, but doesn't sound like Pruitt's his first option.

That's what I gleaned from it as well. He may have reservations about if Pruitt will work under his scheme. That may be why he is looking for someone else a la how he was with Saban. Learn the HCs scheme and then be able to adapt it and call it as your own after some time. At least that's how I feel about his time under Saban.

Yeah that stuck out to me as well. I'm trying not to read too much into any of this, but that's way easier said than done

I'd love to keep Pruitt, but will trust Kirby to make the right call

As much as I like Pruitt, I think new blood might flow best the the veins of our defensive beast.

Pruitt gives us recruits our "beast" needs though.

I take it more as he's not going to just adopt Pruitt and the defensive staff in place just because they're there and they did pretty well last year. If he retains anyone, it's because they fit into his philosophy, his expectations, and his vision for the program.

I don't think it ruled anyone out. Rather, it just made a statement that he had a certain expectation for how things are going to be done and he is going to select coaches that fit into that plan.
