Trey Thompkins III would be a better person to relate? SEC All-Freshman, selected to 2 ALL-SEC teams...

Ehh you never know man, keep in mind Thorton missed basically the whole year and Morris will have all summer to continue to develop. We may stay about the same or only be a little worse. KCP was one hell of a ball player but one guy can't make or break or the whole team.

I can agree with that, Thompkins was a baller no doubt but IMO KCP is still heads and shoulders above him development wise. If KCP goes in the 2nd round I will be shocked.

In basketball one player can definitely make or break a team.

I will agree that in the NBA they can, college not so much

In basketball he absolutely can. Think UConn wins a national title without Kemba Walker going on an all time great scoring run? How about what Trey Burke did for Michigan? Derrick Rose at Memphis?
The ultimate example of this is Lebron and the Cavs, but he's a once in a lifetime type of player so probably not a good comparison.
Huge mistake by KCP I think. Shabazz Muhammad, Trey Burke, Ben McLemore, Victor Oladipo, and Marcus Smart are all better guards and you don't leave early to be the #6...at best...guard in the draft.

I'd say they can do it more so in college than in the pros.

One player making or breaking a team is more prevalent in NBA because NBA teams play a lot of isolation ball with the best player drawing a one on one matchup and making the best decision. Lebron, Kobe, Durant, Westbrook, Kyrie, etc...

Not trying to troll but who has exactly made a college team in recent years? I guess Jimmer would be a legitimate arguement but he still had some other solid guys on that team like Brandon Davies.

Kemba Walker put an average UConn team on his back that was a #9 seed in Big East tourney and won 5 games in 5 days, then proceeded to carry the same average UConn team to a stunning national title. This was in 2011. They got lucky by drawing Butler in the title game but he still was a man among boys in that tournament
