I don’t think so. By all accounts there was legit competition between Fromm and Eason before the 2017 season. Eason started all 2016 but he never looked great.
JT looked good for us late last year and there really wasn’t a “qb competition”. JT is the man when healthy. I’m assuming/hoping this is based on health plus opponent.

Pulled rib hurts like hell. Surprised he was able to go vs Clemson. That’s the good news as he played the entire game. I think he was hurt last Sat and sucked it up.

I'm gonna be really pissed at kirby if stetson starts. It accomplishes absolutely nothing and shows that he hasn't learned one iota in the last 3 years abotu how to manage QBs. Beck obviously has more raw talent and is still young while bennett is a senior.
If Beck starts, we lose nothing. The only person that may be upset is bennett but he's a senior so who cares? He isn't the future of the program and he isn't sitting out or transferring. If Bennett starts, I wouldn't blame beck one bit for transferring tomorrow and why shouldn't he? Kirby would have clearly shown beck has no chance here to do anythign meaningful.
And spare me the "bennett has experience and won't be as turnover prone and knows the offense" excuse...it's UAB. If in kirby's 6th year we are having to worry abotu shite like that against UAB we've got far bigger problems than just who is starting today.
